Anyone interested in reading another classic? The last one didn't have a huge turnout for discussions, but breaking it down by weeks really helped keep me motivated to read. Thoughts? Book ideas?

I would like to participate in this, but I can't guarantee that I can. I'm really feeling Shakespeare right now. How about The Tempest or Much Ado About Nothing?
Emma's been on my to-read list for a while so I could definitely get on board with that one. I like the idea of Shakepseare if we wanted to so something quicker.

I would definitely be interested, but I haven't had a lot of time to read lately so I can't commit. I'm glad to see someone else liked it enough to head it up without me!

I was wondering where you've been! Glad you don't mind me stepping on your turf.

And if we are doing Shakespeare I'd like to throw out Midsummer Night's Dream.
And charlatti, the whole board has been dead and I certainly haven't been helping. I've fallen into my old lurking ways, but I will try to post more I swear!

I might participate, depending on the book. How is that for not-helpful-at-all?
As far as the board being dead, I'm afraid to open most of the posts for fear of spoilers. They've been about books that I haven't read yet and I don't want to accidentally find out too much-- it's usually not clear whether there are spoilers inside.

I'd be up for it!
I was excited about the last book, but then we ended up moving, so I didn't participate.
I'd be up for either Jane Austen or Shakespeare, although I suspect we'd have more people participate with Jane Austen! (Just because it seems less intimidating.)
Could we maybe "publicize" our plan to read a classic on the other boards? I know there are a lot of readers on the other boards, they just don't really come over here (not that I can blame them since it's pretty slow :-( ).

That seems like it should be easy to fix, at least in theory. The old Nest board was pretty good about labeling posts with spoilers. (A little *too* good sometimes! You could get jumped on for not putting a spoiler warning when you said something like, "Gone With the Wind is about the Civil War.")

This is a great idea. I'll do a poll sometime in the near future (later this morning or this afternoon, probably) to decide Emma vs. Shakespeare vs. yet-unnamed choice and maybe we can link that to a few boards too.
I'm interested. I've been looking each week to see if there is going to be another one. I vote Emma over Shakespeare. Bad memories from my Shakespeare class experience!!

I'd be interested if we read A Midsummer Night's Dream. I've been wanting to read this for awhile.
