I've wanted realistic fake flowers for awhile for the vase on my kitchen table, but everything I order online ends up looking way too fake. My husband and I were traveling and in this flower market in Amsterdam they had these AMAZING fake flowers! I literally had to look at and touch them for like 20 seconds before I was sure they were fake. Apparently they're a mix of silicone and silk. Anyway, sorry I can't tell you exactly where to buy them, but I figured knowing they exist and what they're made of would be a step in the right direction for others on this same quest. They make my room smell like a brand-new sex toy right now, but that's already fading with time. ;-) I guess the silicone is what keeps them from looking like fabric even close-up. Sorry I photographed them on my chair, my table was way too messy to attempt to clean off right now.
gorgeous! and lol at the smell comment (Amsterdam amirite?)
Yeah, my DH and I were joking that the Amsterdammers (I looked it up) were trying to meld their two obsessions with sex and tulips to make some unholy combination of tulip sex toy, and accidentally made some really nice fake flowers instead. But, seriously, once they stop smelling bad (god, I hope they stop smelling bad but I think it's getting better already) they are going to be so convincing. Each petal even has little striations and stuff. They are also colored really well. SaveSave

I wonder if these are the same...they look a little less convincing to me but it may be the photography...the colors look about the same and the openness of the flowers along with the closed buds looks pretty similar.
