Crossing my fingers that I get to join you girls on the graduates board. I am currently 5dp3dt. I realize it's early, and I am trying my damn hardest to wait until Sunday to test. If you tested early, how early did your positive show up? I've read other message boards saying people got positives on 5 and 6dp3dt. That seems ridiculously early to me. I've done a lot of cycles (between IUI and IVF) and I tested out the trigger shot twice, and both times it was 7 days after trigger that it stopped showing a positive for me.
For my first fresh transfer, I had the trigger in my system until 4dp5dt (so 11 days after the trigger shot) and didn't get a positive till 6dp5dt (so equivalent to 8dp3dt).
For my FET (no trigger) I think I would have got a positive as early as 4dp5dt (6dp3dt).
so, I tested 2 days before my scheduled blood draw (9dp3dt) and got a negative. We were heartbroken.
At our beta we were shocked to find out we were pregnant.
And now my baby is 3 months!
I strongly suggest waiting, but I have never once tested before my expected period date or beta draw during our IF journey.
I remember this happening!!! You have much better self control than me
For a couple of my IUIs I tested early (for the ones I tested out the trigger), but I've mostly managed to wait until at least the day before my schedule'd blood draw. This time the wait is so much harder.
donthasslethehoff, I happened to be at my regular PCP doctors office and just asked for a urine test there. so a hospital grade urine test. When is your blood draw scheduled for?

shauni27, Not until Nov 1, so 12dp3dt. I am 100% testing before that because I will inevitably get the news while I am at work and need to be able to keep my shit together, especially if it's bad news.

yes, I think that makes sense. I did find out I was pregnant while at work and I just was like "HOLY SHIT." I was shaking and just wanted to tell everyone.
I also had assumed we were not pregnant due to the test at the doctors office, but if I was not aware of that, I would not want to get back bad news while at work. I probably would wait though and test just the night before.

I can't even imagine that, honestly. To think you're completely out and thinking you're going to get a phone call to confirm what you already thought you knew, and then it being the opposite. I would have freaked!

I think those urine tests the doctors have must not be as sensitive as some of the at home ones. For one of my pregnancies that I eventually lost, I had light positives for a couple days at home, then the urine test at the ER was negative, then a blood test taken at the same time said beta was 27. It was a whirlwind of emotion!
I didn't test at home until after my first beta. I probably would have, except we did my first beta early at only 7dp5dt (12 dpo). I didn't want to test too early and have it be trigger, and I just didn't want to test the trigger out.
There is no "hospital grade" urine test. They're the same thing as at home tests. I used to do them in the ER allllll the time as a tech.

I tested 6dp6dt the first time, stupidly using a rapid response test which only detected 50+ units of hcg, and it was negative. Blood test 3 days later was positive, but ended in a CP. My second transfer I tested 7dp6dt and got a positive. I only tested because I had the same rash on my face I got with my first BFP, otherwise I was planning on waiting until beta day.

I mostly said that as there was no brand that I knew of
donthasslethehoff, GIRL, you are not kidding. My appointment was Wednesday night at 6pm (I remember clearly). I got the negative test and held it together in the office and cried on my way home. Stopped taking progesterone inserts and immediately got drunk. Beta was Friday morning at 7 am, I got a call by 8 saying it was somewhere in the hundreds. I was shaking. It was a moment I will never forget.
I tested at 9dt5dt and I got a BFN on a wondfo. 2 days later right before beta I tested on a first response and got a positive. I was in a bad spot for those 2 days though that I wished I hasn't tested. I still wonder if the first test was faulty or if it was a late implantation because my beta was so high 2 days later. I have an amazing 13 month old now to show for it so it was worth the agony!
I tested at 6dp5dt with our first successful IVF, and 5dp5dt with our second successful IVF (currently PG). They were positive but still hard to see, and got darker from there. I think betas were around 12dp5dt and were in the 200/300s by then.
I got BFPs at 5dp5dt both times. My beta was not until 14dp5dt and I could NOT wait that long.
Holy hell. Why oh why do they wait that long? Do they do it purposely so that you will likely end up getting your period before that time and ultimately cancel the beta? That seems like an abnormally long time.
I usually start around 10dpo (so 7dp3dt the first time, and 5dp5dt the second and third times). I was kind of ambivalent about BFPs though since it seemed that getting one wasn't the big hurdle. For me, it was true that the faint ones and/or the ones I didn't get until the full 14dpo were not successful pregnancies. My last transfer (this pregnancy) I got a strong BFP starting at 6dp5dt.
GL donthasslethehoff . I don't know why our clinic waits until essentially 15dpo for betas. Its annoying.
I wish I would have taken better notes for all my IUIs for when they scheduled betas. I don't remember how many dpo they were scheduled, but 14 or 15 days sounds right.
In full disclosure I peed on a wondfo last night to make certain that the trigger was out of my system. Yesterday was 10 days after trigger, and sure enough, it was stark white, as I was expecting. I am going to try to wait until Saturday or Sunday to test again. I just wanted to confirm last night that it was definitely out of my system so that any positives here on out is an actual positive.
I am also ambivalent about BFPs. I was able to get pregnant naturally twice early in 2016 and lost both those pretty early. A BFP won't feel like a big deal until I actually see my beta numbers increasing regularly.

I DON'T KNOW. They made me come in at 7dp5dt but only do a progesterone test. SERIOUSLY?
I have GREAT VEINS. One of the medical assistants stuck me and went
"Huh. Well that's super weird. I got you, but nothing is coming out. ..... I mean.... in the past I've seen this, might be a coincidence, but sometimes it's a weird good sign...."
"Psh like I waited I already tested I'm totally pregnant." haha

This happened to me, too. I knew I was pregnant, but was also fairly certain I was miscarrying OR suffering another ectopic. But the A&E nurse was like "no, you tested negative". I said, well a urine test this morning was positive, and I have a history of ectopic so you'll need to give me a blood test. I should have waited to go into the early pregnancy unit the following morning, but it was Sunday and I was freaking out.
Then something in the blood test said my organs might be failing, so they had to draw more blood... then led us to a little room to wait some more. Finally they were like "whoopsie! must be our machine. No biggie, you're not dying. Oh yeah, and your beta is 32 but progesterone levels are super low." The next time I miscarried I went into the EPAU and had a much better (if you can call it that) experience.
Congrats (saw your post on TTTC). I had BFPs by 4dp5dt. You transferred 2 embryos right?
Yep, 2. Did a 3dt, both A grade, 9 cell.
I am so annoyed. They told me to come for bloodwork on November 1. Since I've gotten several positive tests, I called this morning to ask if I could in tomorrow instead (mainly because we're going to be gone this weekend and if I waited until Wednesday, I wouldn't be home to go for repeat bloodwork 72 hours later). The woman calls me back and tells me I was scheduled to come in this morning for bloodwork. No. That is NOT what they told me. People to not forget things like this. Anyway, I will be going tomorrow for bloodwork now instead.
