I’m trying to get a jump start on teacher gifts. DS has two teachers in his class. DD has one kindergarten teacher. We love them all dearly.
I’m thinking of getting canvas bags and machine embroidering their names on one side and a Dr Seuss quote on the other. The quote is “”The more you read, the more you know, and the more you know the farther you’ll go!” Then put a $25 Target card inside.
Cute and will be appreciated or a PITA and they’d rather just have a bigger Target gift card?
I love it! Last year I had the girls sew together a random patchwork of fabric with their kid sewing machines, we cut it into heart shapes, and I sewed them onto tote bags for the teachers. They were a huge hit!
Love the idea and teachers carry so much stuff back and forth it is sure to be used at some point.
DD's 1st grade teacher gave a really detailed "about me" letter for meet the teacher night and her favorite candy is tootsie rolls so I found this idea on Pinterest to do a tootsie roll float so going to try and do that with DD over the Thanksgiving holiday.

I'm really wanting to get DS' teachers something this year that's not only a gift card. They've annoyed me at times, but I know I've annoyed them too and they have really stuck with us for 3 years.
Someone gave them yeti's last year with their name on it and they actually use them. I think a tote bag is a similarly cute idea!!
I did a super steal Nordstrom necklace last year (gold druzy with cream stone). I follow a few fashion blog thingies on FB and they post some great deals on things like that. The kids get a kick out of seeing their teachers wearing their gift - we ran into one on a date night and she was wearing it and DD was like over the moon excited. I think it helps drive home the joy in gift giving for them.
I have started having DD do recon for me. I am trying to teach her the art of getting gifts that she really thinks someone would appreciate with their life/lifestyle, vs. what we want them to want.
So far, Ms. P always says she needs her coffee. There was one other thing DD thought she would like, but I forgot and will need to ask her again.
Last year, we got her teacher a pack of Monster energy drinks and a gift card. It went over well.
I am a broken record on this, but I hate giving people gifts I can't be sure they'll like/use. I don't feel like I know (or want to know) her teachers well enough to know this, so I go for consumable things. The bag sounds very cute, but at the same time, if she doesn't like it, she's either stuck using a bag she feels guilty about not using or throwing away, or it's a wasted gift that she does throw away.
I teach fifth. I love gift cards (even if it’s for ‘teacher places’, as I spend money there all the time.) I wouldn’t be into a tote bag (personal preference), but I’d love a card made by one of my students. I have a huge file of them from over the years.
