Happy Halloween! I'm going to be honest, Halloween is not my favorite holiday. I didn't even get E a costume. One of her aunts gave her a black cat jumper and onesie, so she's wearing that today to her pedi appt. We did go to a trunk or treat event over the weekend, that was fun (mostly because I got to see my friend, heh).

Halloween with H has been really fun, and it's getting me excited about Christmas. We've been going for walks after dinner when it's dark and looking at decorations - if she loves this, how much is she going to love Christmas decorations?!
I had 2 costumes for j but didn't buy either one. He does look adorable in them. I usually love trick or treating but I'm dreading it because it's going to wake him up and he will be so cranky during that time.
I don't really consider Halloween to be a holiday. There's no day off, no presents, I don't like sweets, and I can't be arsed to decorate only to pull all the stuff down a day later. I will be taking A trick or treating to 3 houses tonight. I went out and bought some cheap fairy wings for her, as well as a black cat bucket (which I think she'll like the most). I wanted to dress her as a dinosaur since she's obsessed with them, but a T-Rex costume was $35 so no thanks to that. At this point the event is still more for me than for her.
I am ALL about Christmas.
King26, I'm sorry. Try to remember that there will be many, many Halloweens in future. I'd just do what's best for you this time, and if that means staying home with the lights off, then just do that. Halloween's not really for babies anyway. I didn't do anything with A last year.

Halloween is one of our favorites & has always been a big deal because it's MIL's birthday. I have enjoyed the excuse to have lots of matching outfits for the kids for all the festivities. DS1 is pumped about Halloween & talks about pumpkins, skeletons, witches etc non stop. We've done 2 pumpkin patches,a trip to the amusement park, a kiddo party, Halloween parade, 2 trick or treat streets, Boo at the Zoo & a night in with ghost pizza, pumpkin carving, a movie & spooky dessert. We're all dressing up tonight for trick or treating at the grandparents. We're Monsters Inc since DS1 watched it while we were in tbe hospital & became obsessed. He's Sully, DS2 is Mike, I am Boo, & DH is the abominable snowman.
In non Halloween updates. DS has really started expressing that he knows his numbers, colors, & shapes in the past couple weeks which has been so exciting but I think all this new stuff is causing a sleep regression. We were just considering converting his crib to a toddler bed since he is showing interest in potty training but now I'm wondering if we should hold off until he's a good sleeper again. My maternity leave is flying by with both kids but I am only going back ad very part time. It will be great to get my income back because we have a lot of house projects on the horizon.
We hardy and any TOT last night. We were bummed. There were tons of kids in our neighborhood but our street is still under construction so we're one of only a few house that are completed. Even the people that did walk down our street didn't want to make the effort to walk down our 80 foot driveway. We have so much candy left over. Guess the kids at school will be getting lots of chocolate!
My induction is scheduled for the 14th. Crazy that it's only 2 weeks away.

We didn't anticipate taking G out for anything last evening. I didn't buy him an outfit, but someone gave us an orange and white striped pumpkin sleep and play, so we put that on him for his Costume Parade at daycare. J wanted to go on a walk, so he decided to take G out, and basically scammed candy off the neighbors. It was about 45 minutes, we talked to a few friends, got some candy, and went home. Worked out better than I anticipated, but I'm looking forward to next year!!!

Our neighborhood turns into a giant party on Halloween! It seems bigger every year, and I'm never prepared. H loved it. We took her over to talk to our neighbors early on, before the madness started, and after that, we just stood outside and gave out candy. She did have an epic tantrum when we made her go inside for a while to eat dinner though.
It was our first time in a house (condo dwellings till a few weeks ago) so we were both so excited for trick or treaters. We bought way too much candy and had maybe 30 kids show up. I guess lots of left over candy for H to deal with.
Halloween is not my favorite either. Perhaps if we got ToTers I would like it, I do love seeing all the kids. S wore a ghost onesie and we called it a day, lol.
In non Halloween related stuff, S is going through a growth spurt, I think. He is also all of a sudden really fussy when we are in crowds (think dinner party situations). Although fussy for S is still really tame. He is rolling all the time, laughing, and being generally perfect. I am so in love more and more each day.
As an adult, it isnt super fun unless you're in college, or really into costume parties. As a parent of a baby, Halloween isn't super fun either. But now that E is 2 and old enough to get excited about it, omg it's so much fun!
I'm back home again! I was traveling for 14 of the past 17 days on 3 separate trips. I'm exhausted! I stayed home from work yesterday since I had worked all weekend. My milk supply has really taken a nose dive. The first week I was gone I was getting 16-18 ounces a day. On my last trip I was only getting 10-11 a day. I made a lactation appointment with the nurse at the hospital tomorrow. I'd like to do a weighted feed to see how badly this drop is affecting her when we're together. I want to be able to keep BFing, hopefully the nurse will be able to help me cause I'm really worried about it.
He wakes up between 6-6:30am (on weekdays I have to wake him by 6:15am if he's still sleeping). He's a crappy napper and is absolutely exhausted by 5:30pm. Its definitely a bummer; I barely see him on weeknights. On the flip side it is nice to have some downtime in the evenings.
And yes, mpc definitely wins Halloween with those astronaut costumes!!
We got about 70 kids - not as many as some years, but more than others. Do kids go really early in the US? It doesn't start around here until about 6:30pm. Most people go after dinner. I didn't want to start too early, but that was a mistake because A did not like being out in the dark.

Omg, LOVE the Halloween babies!!
I love Halloween and have been dressing DS in Halloween clothes all month, lol. He got them as gifts, to be fair, but I probably would have bought him some theme clothes anyway. He's already got two Thanksgiving outfits. I'm just all about dressing him up.
Here's a quick snap of our fox and the hound (will dd pics later).

Totally unimpressed with Halloween at Daddy's job: *deleted*

E had to get her head x-rayed yesterday, the pedi wanted to check her sutures. E didn't find that to be very fun. Tomorrow she gets her first RSV shot. I hope she tolerates it well. This poor baby. Next week she needs to get blood drawn, and I'm dreading it because it was horrible last time. Heel prick or vein? They both suck. Leaning towards heel again because I don't think she will tolerate vein at all.
