Happy Halloween!

Are you already done with Halloween activities, or do you have them tonight? We had most things already--the big kids' school parties, the family school party Friday night, a party for grown-ups, and our main trick-or-treat. BUT, tonight DD2 had her school party at preschool, and we're going trick-or-treating again (low key) by Grandma's house and having dinner there. She does mummy dogs, orange jello, clementine "pumpkins," etc. We all had "Despicable Me" costumes for our main trick-or-treat, but tonight I'm just putting the kids in whatever we have in the costume bin that lets them be warmest. Preferably outfits that fit over a winter coat. It's COLD here. It will probably be in the low 30's by trick-or-treat time tonight.

DS wore his costume to school today, and judging by the pics his teachers have posted, it appears to have been an all-day Halloween party today - lol.

"Real" trick-or-treating will be tonight. I picked up a couple of frozen pizzas that I'm planning to cook for supper, then we'll bundle DS up in layers to go out. It's only supposed to be in the low 30's here too (and windy - boo); not sure if his winter coat will fit under his costume!

...AND DD1 has a 101 fever and got sent home from school early. DH is working until really late. So, waiting to see how she is after the Motrin kicks in before we talk to Grandma. Grandma (and the little kids) are all excited about tonight. DD might have to sleep in the guest room at Grandma's or something while we all go out trick-or-treating and have dinner. Now I wish we could all just stay home.

...and we discovered our hot water tank isn't working - lovely.

They're going to send someone out tomorrow, but in the meantime: DH had a cold shower, DS skipped his bath altogether, and DH boiled me a couple pots of water that I added to the cold water to make a lukewarm bath for myself.

Now they're both fast asleep and I just raided DS' Halloween treats. I'm munching on a bag of Doritos - man, I haven't had these in ages!

Ugh. We went TOTing, it was 28degrees and COLD. The kids had a great time though.
I am struggling with a cold and trying not to throw up every time I cough. It sucks. Girls are healthy though so the show must go on!

momin2013, that's really crappy about the hot water! I hope it's back in action today.

Things worked out with DD1. She went to three houses with us and then rested at Grandma's. She ate dinner and we just tried to keep her away from the other kids! Today she's enjoying her sick day at home.

Welp, the service guy was supposed to come today between 4-8pm to fix the water heater, but I had a message when I got home that there'd been a "scheduling error" and to call. I called and they rescheduled it for TOMORROW night between 7-11pm - ugh. DH came home and said eff that noise, so I googled and ended up finding a YouTube fixit video and we FIXED IT OURSELVES!! DH said I made his night - lol!
