How did everyone do on Day 1?

My adjusted goal was 2,500 and I finished at 2,008. 

I'm really happy with how it began! It's a little more freeing to just have an idea without super planned plot points. I am trying to take notes on my character sheets though so I don't change details accidentally, like ages/birthdays/eye color or random stuff like that.

I'm at 2,834 and feeling good about it. I never plan except kind of knowing how I want it to end. This YA story writes itself since it's heavily based on my early college years.

I just got to 3563, so I'm glad I'm getting to quota at least. Especially since I know later this month, there might be days I get nothing written at all. So far, I hate what I've written (it's mostly world-building vomit right now that will have to be scrapped in its entirety if I choose to revise this novel later), but I'm getting the words out, so whatever.

I feel like the scene I'm working on right now is the first one that is actually decent. So that is obviously good news, but it means that I also have a lot of crap written so far this month. I'm also currently about 40 words ahead of my sister and the sibling rivalry from childhood always comes back during NaNo, so that's good lol.

Everyone is doing so well! I love seeing those word counts go up on my list of writing buddies.

I'm a bit behind at 1,775 words, but I'll catch up! This is my 8th time attempting NaNo, but the first time that I'm jumping into a work in progress rather than starting something new.

It's a different challenge, because instead of starting from scratch, I'm already 37K into book two of a planned trilogy, so there's a mountain of backstory and I'm not at the beginning where I always feel free to write whatever I want. Plus I haven't worked on this project in a few months, so I kind of don't remember what's happening in the story! Hopefully I'll hit my stride and get back on track soon.

Ugh, I am only at 932, and I have a ton of stuff going on this weekend I'm hoping to get caught up tonight, but it hasn't been a promising start. My biggest challenge is not getting super caught up in details, and just writing the story down.

You can easily catch back up! It's only Day 3! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Yeah, what fatamy said!  Plus that's barely more than a day behind.
