It's Wednesday and no weekly thread yet... How's everyone doing?
I am really struggling with my milk supply. I posted about it on MMM. I think all this traveling has been brutal on me in that regard. I am going to try to keep it up for maybe one or two more weeks, but then throw in the towel completely if nothing has improved.
There's a 24 hr stomach bug going around the daycare. I had it last Friday. H and DS had it yesterday. I'm not sure about the baby but she might've had it over the weekend. Friday was the day I had to get on a plane with both kids and no H and I don't think he truly appreciated how miserable I felt until he got sick yesterday. Flying with them really wasn't all that bad, but being sick made it a lot harder.
That was a lot of doom and gloom in this post, but generally I'm doing pretty good at the moment. Happy to not be traveling this week!

Oh man, I'm sorry! That sounds awful. I hope this week is a little easier.
I survived my first week back! I chose to come back on this short week, so the transition wasn't too bad. One of my friends generously offered me his office to pump in, too. The kids have been wonderful, so that part's easy. Now if I could just bundle DS up in my work bag, everything would be great.
Ugh, mpc. Hopefully everyone feels better soon! Glad your transition back to work has been smooth, cherryvalance.
DH and I leave for Hawaii tomorrow morning. I'm pretty excited, although I hate leaving my dogs for so long. I've been feeling pretty good. I think I might be showing a little bit. Tends to be more in the evenings. My pants have been getting tighter. Still no movement. Three more weeks until our anatomy scan! I can't wait to see him again and see that everything is okay. I hate this waiting time between appointments.

kellikans, enjoy your trip! The waiting in between appointments is so hard after you're used to the RE. Hopefully it will get a little easier when you can feel him.

Good for you cherryvalance, the first weeks are so hard! Especially for teachers.
C has the flu. He’s still getting over Hand Foot Mouth and now he’s poltergeist vomiting. We almost went to the ER last night but thankfully could get him to keep some fluids down. Today was enter but still a lot of puking. We’ve switched to Pedialyte tonight so hopefully his belly starts to feel better. We’re also trying to schedule an appointment to have his tubes fixed, one is blocked so he needs to have another surgery. The doctor wants it done by the end of the month...but the scheduler says there’s no availability until mid-January. Umm, no. My son can’t hear correctly (again) and the doctor says it’s urgent, so figure it out. Grrr.

Glad you are able to be home this week mpc! Hope C feels better quick Chrysanthemum.
E has to get blood work today, boooooo. Next week we are meeting with the nutritionist, I'm excited to discuss how much she's eating (so hopefully we can drop her multi-vitamin) and hammer out a plan for solids.
aw have fun camping @daylily! That might be a tad too cold for me, lol! We had planned a camping trip at the end of october but had to cancel cause of my work travel. We have a weekend at the disney campground planned in december. No parks, just camping and doing free stuff at disney. I can't wait! I'm hoping for nights in the 50s.

hey ladies! Not much going on here...G is officially 4 months now and things are cruising right along. I just got off the phone with the lawyer talking about finalization (we can petition for a court date in January), so hopefully that's right around the corner!
G is sick, again...mostly just the sniffles, but he also has a horrible diaper rash that we are fighting with. Poor little guy, I can tell it's bothering him and we are SLATHERING on the diaper creme, but man...it's a doozy. It's been going on for a few days, so I hope it heals soon.
Tomorrow are 4 month shots, wish me luck there. He did really well with his 2 month shots, so I'm hoping for the same this time around too.
In the second trimester! My anatomy scan isn't for another 4.5 weeks but having the Doppler at home has been really helpful, I am super anxious/nervous for the anatomy scan though. Hopefully everything is okay. Baby does not like the Doppler at all and I spend most of the time chasing him around trying to find the heartbeat, so I have tried to limit how often I use it.
Oh, and they extended maternity leave from 12 months to 18 months for parents going on leave starting December 3rd and afterwards. Currently, you get 55% of your gross yearly income paid out over 12 months and they are just changing it to 55% of a years worth of gross income over 18 months, but you have the job security still. I think I am leaning towards taking the extra 6 months as finding daycare in the city will probably eat of most of my pay anyway.
Oh man, mpc. That sounds rough. Poor baby, Chrysanthemum. I hope he is feeling better soon.
I'm also dealing with a sick baby. Cal has been out of daycare all week with a high (103+) fever, ear infection, and a terrible cold. He's a total snot monster, and barely eating/nursing. He turns one on Saturday (MY BABY!!) and I'm crossing my fingers hard that he's okay for the party.

Poor guy! One thing that helped when H would get bad diaper rashes when she was tiny was letting her be naked. We'd put plastic down and lay her on it. It seems like letting her little hiney air out helped. Save

So the blood draw was not fun but not as bad as last time. However, she did not pee a drop into the baggie they stuck to her, so I had to bring her home with the bag still stuck on. She did pee but most of it didn't go in the bag. I stuck a new one on and she's sleeping on her belly, so hopefully some pee makes it in. I really hope we don't have to go back and get more bags, it's a 40 minute round trip .

When C gets really red our pedi suggested using Aquaphor. I use it throughout the day but overnight I put a nice thick layer on and it’ll be pretty much gone by morning. That’s the only thing we use on him now.

Do you put cotton balls in the wee bag? I did that all the time when I used to work with infants. That way most of the pee stays in the wee bag.

Thank you for the tip - I did not know you could do that. I'm not sure if any ever got in the bag the first couple of times - it looked pretty dry. We finally ended up getting about 5mL and I rushed it up to the hospital and thankfully it was enough.

Thanks ladies. We’ve been doing lots of naked time, and I brought in the “big guns” (40% zinc + Maalox + Nystatin). It’s getting better, but we’ll see what the doctor says today at his appointment.

It's a great trick the nursery and NICU nurses use. We just squeeze tnt cotton balls into our specimen cups. The only time I didn't use the cotton balls was when I needed a sterile sample, and I used a catheter for that (fortunately that was very rare).

I really hope we don't have to do it again, but if we do I'm definitely going to try the cotton balls. They are testing calcium and phosphorus, it would still be okay, right? She's seeing endo for osteopenia of prematurity.

Yea it's fine. They only time I didn't do cotton balls was when we were doing a urine culture, because that's not a sterile technique. Other than that, fair game.
Just spent the evening at the ER. H and i had sex for the first time since before the transfer on Friday. Then this morning i put in the applicator with my yeast infection cream and nicked something. Had a gush of blood and spotting since but wanted to make sure everything was fine with baby.
Baby is fine, was sucking his thumb and waving at us. Cervix is closed but is irritated outside and that’s where the bleeding is coming from. No more sex till after the baby is born lol.
pandora89 DH and I still haven't had sex since before transfer. I promised him we can try after we get back from vacation. Since I have placenta previa, I don't want to have a bleeding scare while we're out of town. I feel bad for the poor guy, though.
