Thanks to anastasia517 for the "you're not even that far behind" pep talk I got some words in last night and I'm going to just keep writing when I can find little nuggets of time!
I'm at 8,288 right now, which means I'd only need 1,815/day to actually finish on time. It's not too scary... my realistic goal is 1k/day but we'll see how it goes!
::runs through post:: I’m heeeere. Not sure if anyone remembers me, but I usually post during nanowrimo and haven’t yet this year. I’m at around 12,000 and my novel is apparently about the great plague. I say apparently because I’m shocked that this is the story that found me.
Just chugging along and hit 13K words this afternoon.
I'm reading John McPhee's _Draft No. 4_, which has been excellent help for my writing. Both because his own writing is so crisp, and because he gives great advice for struggling writers in the last chapter.

I got so much more done the first 4 days of the month than these past 4. It probably didn't help that I went back to work & started a new book the last few days. I'm still very much ahead though, so oh well. I hope to pick up the pace again a bit more on the weekened.
I feel like nothing is happening still (even though it totally is) and I'm halfway there. The only bright side is I will definitely have enough to hit 50k, but the downside is this will take more words than I would like.
