We had swim lessons for both boys this morning. I can’t remember if I posted last week, which was the first lesson for DS2 and DS1’s first lessons without a parent in the pool. DS2 hated the first class, but did much better this week.
Then we headed straight to a sip n see for my niece. We’re making homemade pizza for dinner.
Tomorrow is church, MIL stopping by, and dinner at my parents’ house.
2chatter , we live in suburban Chicago and I grew up mostly in the suburbs so this is all very odd to me. I think the location of this place is further west of where we are where there are gun clubs and such. In the “country” if you can call it that.
But some of the things that DH has told me about growing up in a small town and what I’ve seen myself at family weddings and going to his hometown, leave me scratching my head. For example, the schools close for the first day of deer season. I don’t know if those sorts of things would be an interesting reality show or not
Oh yeah! Where DH's family is from in Louisiana, the schools and banks are closed for the first day of squirrel season. I didn't know squirrels had a season before I met my DH.

2nd to last soccer game was today. We didn't score much...but the kids were much much more engaged than last week. They even found a dead garden snake on the field and only 2 of them stopped to play with it.
I think this weekend might kill me. I’m dying because I’m have to wait up for DD but only got 5 hours of sleep last night. This teenager thing sucks - I no longer have any recovery time. Today was nonstop to the point DS told me tonight I look like I am very sick and should go to sleep. I’m so tired my ears are ringing and I’m dizzy. But if I fall asleep i will be out - and our front door lock needs another repair so I have to let DD in (key doesn’t work).
All of this to say - DH totally doesn’t understand that when I go out of town I pre-arrange EVERYTHING and he does very little. He truly thinks my being gone and his being gone are equal - despite the fact I run all errands, in advance, before I leave...and I run all errands while he is gone (including HIS dry cleaning and laundry!). I left the house today at 7:30 and got home at 6:00. That has literally never occurred for DH but empirical evidence like that melts in the face of “my making him feel bad”. Of course!

The bit about squirrel season was the best thing I read in a while.

I don't know how you do it 2chatter. Sometimes just reading about your day/weekend plans make me tired. I'm mad at your DH on your behalf.
DH and insaw "Murder on the Orient Express" last night. Loved it! Makes me want to get to know Poirot better. Those PBS shows turned me off as a kid.
I got DH a card and some ornaments for our anniversary. I know it was bad but with Christmas coming up, we are always broke at our anniversary. But I got nothing. Not even a card or flowers. Oh well.

akafred I LOOOOVE those kind of shows. Give me Midsomer Murder, Miss Marple, Poirot, Miss Fisher. I love all of them. Agatha Christie is the best beach reading ever.
