I'm currently enjoying my solitude of being in my house alone on my day off. I have sheets washing and soup in the crockpot for a sick friend. Will vaccum and clean the hall bath and that's about it. I will go for an extra long run after lunch since I won't get one in this weekend.
FFFC I hope Dh keeps himself occupied today since he is off too. I need a rare day alone. We had a lunch date yesterday, so.
We have a vball tournament tonight to raise money for Dds class trip. I'm not playing since I will be out of town tomorrow, but will drop off food and a door prize.
Tomorrow, I leave early for a shopping trip with 5 friends to the outlets to Christmas shop. We will stay the night, so dinner and drinks. Should be fun, plus knocking out a lot of my list, but come bedtime, I alway want my bed.
Home today with the kids. PD day at school and daycare closed as a day in lieu for Rememberance Day. DD is on day 5 of this f'ing fever. Her cough is getting so much worse. Probably going to take her in to get checked out. DS is supposed to have his 1 year immunizations (5 weeks late) however, I'm sure they don't want me to bring DD in there as well, I'll call in a bit and see what they want me to do. The office for the immunizations is just above the urgent care clinic so I could get both kids dealt with at the same time.
Tomorrow the plan is to go look at an SUV that we're thinking of buying. We also need to buy a new dishwasher for our rental and go install it. Rest of the weekend is up in the air, depends on how the kids are feeling.
Monday DH and I are both off but school and daycare is open so we'll send the kids and have a date day, might go see a movie.

It is my Friday off. I took the kids to school and now I'm getting breakfast at Panera while I'm on my way to my annual OB check-up. Then I have to go home and call in for a conference call. This afternoon I need to run a couple errands and then do some cleaning. The kids have a half day (afternoon off), so I'll have to wait and see how much I actually get done.
Tomorrow DS has a basketball game at 9, then we are hoping to drive to Frankenmuth (2 hours away) to get ornaments at Bronner's. DH has been gone all week and will have a 3-hour time change (3 hours behind us), so I feel like it might almost be a wait-and-see for going to Frankenmuth. Because then in the evening we have a friend's birthday party to go to.
Sunday is church, but then the rest of the day we don't have any plans.
Girls Night to see Bad Moms tonight after fancy pizza. Very excited.
Soccer tournament for DS Saturday and Sunday. DD has Biofeedback and of course that conflicts with DD’s soccer practice, so I am dropping DD to her coach. Lunch with my mom, sister and niece, more soccer, dropping middle DD to Great Wolf Lodge, then oldest to babysit.
DH is out of town. He’s in a snit because I told him everything above and he said I get to do lots of fun things. I also tell him all the things I do to organize our lives when I am not home - dinner will be done before I go out, I am dropping DD at a sleepover and DS will shower before I leave. He totally doesn’t get that I don’t care if he is here or not but I need to be able to answer “what are you up to this weekend” without him yelling at me that I am “making” him feel bad when I list our plans....and he organizes literally nothing for the kids/our lives.
I think DS and I will watch a movie in our bed on Saturday night. Any older hits for 5 year old boys he may not have seen?
I can’t even think about Sunday - hoping DD has a ride home and DS is still into playing at least two more games.

This place is my biggest nightmare. You'd have a hard time getting me in there in March, let alone November.

DH gets home from being gone all week tonight. My mom and dad are supposed to be coming over for the night, then DS's basketball game tomorrow morning. Dad and DH will leave to go up to my parent's house to get ready for hunting season, mom, aunt, and sister will stay the weekend and do our annual shopping trip.
Sunday is up in the air. I just want to relax in my pjs now that it's cold outside.

2chatter, has he seen all the disney classics? lion king, aladdin, peter pan, rescuers down under (?) ? DS will be 4 next month so I'm trying to introduce him to those.

This weekend is my rotating 4 day weekend. It's nice that it fell on a holiday. DH has a 3 day weekend. I've had concert tickets for several months for tonight and yesterday our babysitter that we've had lined up from the beginning said she might have strep. Luckily our back up was available on short notice. Last night DH went into his usual report card rant, saying he was going to be busy all weekend. So I asked if he didn't want to go to the concert tonight and he realized he had upset me with his rant.
With DH being busy the rest of the weekend, I might take DS Christmas shopping and to our closest Chick Fil A which is an hour and half away.
erinshelley21 - he hasn’t! He looooves Little Mermaid. Thinking he might love Aladdin. Now to see if I can watch it without singing, which he doesn’t tolerate - me singing. He pauses Little Mermaid before the chef’s song to make sure I am not in the room.
Tonight DD1 has dance. We are picking up pizza on the way home and then having a movie night. I'm trying to find something both of them haven't seen. Any suggestions? DD1 is starting to get more into live action movies vs animated.
Tomorrow morning the girls have ice skating and then they head off to a friend's roller skating birthday party. I am going to a memorial service for a co-worker's husband. Tomorrow night I'm going to dinner and the philharmonic with girlfriends.
Sunday is DD1's birthday party. It is at her dance studio so we only have to pick up cupcakes and do a little bit of setup. We also need to squeeze in laundry and a little house pick-up because our cleaners come on Monday. Next Friday we are heading out of town for Thanksgiving week so I would also like to organize a bit for the trip. Lots to do and not much free time.
Tomorrow we have a college football game. It’s our first time taking the kids. We are taking MIL too and I can already hear her bitching about how the noise hurts her ears. It’s a college football game in a dome. It’s going to be loud. If you don’t want loud, don’t go.
Then Sunday is a birthday party for a friend/coworker’s son. It’s at a park, so laid back and should be really fun.

I have a light workload until harvest is over, so I'm having a lazy day at the office since Asshole isn't here to answer phones and my brother doesn't come in until almost noon (still). DD was with me this morning so my productivity was shot from the start. I'm going to lunch with a BFF from college that just moved to Oregon this spring and is in town her with boyfriend. DH is at work and MIL just asked if DS could sleep over so it's just going to be DD and me. This will give me a chance to get through the 827 paw patrol toys and take out the duplicates.
Tomorrow we are going Christmas decor/ornament shopping then hopefully having friends over for pizza.
Sunday will be groceries and hopefully building the shelf I want for the mudroom that was supposed to be a birthday present 2 months ago.

Tonight we have a 50th birthday party for one of DHs coworkers and then DD has basketball practice.
Tomorrow is DS’ dentist appt. DD will also tagalong because her bottom braces wire has shifted and is poking her. I’m guessing it’s the nature of the bottom braces getting most of the action but this is the second time this has happened. Each trip to the dentist is 20-30 minutes so it’s not convenient. I told her when she’s done with the braces, we’re finding a new dentist that is closer. DD also has a basketball game Sat afternoon.
Sunday is a meat raffle that DH goes to every year. He wants me to go this year but I looked at the hours at it’s 10:30-5:00. I just emailed him and said - don’t you think that’s too long to leave the kids alone? (ETA: DD is our resident babysitter in case that wasn’t clear). Because I think it is. A couple of hours I have no issue with but that is way too long for my comfort. We’ll see how that goes.

My baby is having her first “friend” birthday party this Sunday. I’m still getting RSVPs and may need to go back to the store. I’m making little felt superhero capes for the kids.
I know?! He tells me its a lot of fun but I’m like ? He’s from a small town and is a hunter so it’s right up his alley. We both decided it was a good idea if I don’t go so I get to stay home with the kids.
leap, my 8 year old and 4.5 year old just saw A Dolphin's Tale for the first time recently, and they LOVED it. Also just heard from an 8 year old boy that Pete's Dragon was good.
DD1 had 7 friends over for a movie night last night since they didn't have school today. Seven 8 year olds. They watched the moving for approximately 5.2 seconds, then ransacked my house. All in good fun, but I totally drank once they all left.
Today has been a revolving door of neighborhood kids in and out, which I love. It's better when they remember to close the door since it's about 15 degrees F outside. But so happy they are running around and having fun. DH and I are having old friends over for dinner tonight. They don't have kids, so like to spoil ours a bit when they see them, and the kids enjoy it too. Then the kids watch a movie and the adults catch up. It's been several months, so I'm excited to see them.
Tomorrow DD1 has another play date. We are between sports seasons, so nice to have a long weekend off. Basketball starts next week, and ski season will start soon, so her friends will be heading out of town for ski weekends all the time. So we're jamming in as much free kid time as possible.
justcheckingin73 - they need to make a reality show that showcases some of these small town or regional things! I’m so curious.
I've though I should submit my town as the antithesis of the Real Housewives shows. After a few episodes with the confessional interviews, none of us would be speaking to each other.

I've threatened DH's family that I was going to record them during 4H time. I've seen the weirdest things out them all from 4H. Most notably the time I witnessed MIL and FIL, who have been divorced for 28 years and absolutely despise each other, work on a project with one of the grandkids together. Out of everyone to yell at each other I would have bet money on that combo had I known it was even a possiblity.

2chatter, we live in suburban Chicago and I grew up mostly in the suburbs so this is all very odd to me. I think the location of this place is further west of where we are where there are gun clubs and such. In the “country” if you can call it that.
But some of the things that DH has told me about growing up in a small town and what I’ve seen myself at family weddings and going to his hometown, leave me scratching my head. For example, the schools close for the first day of deer season. I don’t know if those sorts of things would be an interesting reality show or not

FFFC: I wish DH and I were both only children. We each have one sister, but they both seem to cause us more grief than good. SIL created a HUGE issue a couple months ago when she invited us to Thanksgiving at her house, but made it VERY clear that MIL was not invited. In fact, SIL told MIL that she didn't want to have a relationship with her because she is the "worst mom ever" according to SIL. DH got a text today from SIL saying that their mom could come with us if we were ok with it. DH thinks that SIL wants something from MIL (like for her to come help out with the kids for a few weeks). I am so mad that SIL thinks she can just basically break MIL's heart and then act like it never happened and everything's cool. And then put it on me and DH to be the bad guys if we say no, MIL can't ride with us. (We will let MIL ride with us, because I'm not going to be the "bad guy.")
I actually found Minecraft dance videos so DD did 25 minutes of those tonight (and still managed not to break a sweat!).
Tomorrow is DH and my 11th anniversary. We will probably do something as a family for lunch, maybe hit a playground for a bit, and then in the evening it is Parents Night Out and DH and I are going to dinner and to see "Murder on the Orient Express."
Sunday I should probably do some work , and DD requested to go rock climbing so DH volunteered to take her to do that.
December is shaping up to be hellacious. The majority of my work has to be done before two meetings which are scheduled SUPER early this month because of the holidays. On top of that, it is the start of the annual budget process and my new VP is a lot more detail-oriented than the previous one. I am going to have to work HARD to give him what he wants. Guess when it's due. Right before the 2 huge meetings I have to prep for.
@leap try watching Racing Stripes. Dolphin tale is DD favorite.
DD did a 3 hour mini horse/art camp this afternoon. I ended up staying as she asked me to. These horses were much more spirited than the one she normally rides Cloud. These horses walks were faster than cloud's but she held her own and trotted really nicely.
Rainy weekend here. Hoping to get some major housework done and fix the spare closet that came crashing down last night from too much weight, oops.
I've decided the only way for our family to have a semi-clean house and feel on top of things is to have a 3 day weekend. I spent my day off scrubbing and cleaning top to bottom and still had plenty of time to run a couple errands and relax. The girls and I snuggled on the couch while they played on their tablets and I read magazines last night with the fireplace going in a clean house and it was so nice!
Today I've got a baby shower, then going to see DH's show at school. Kids are sleeping over the in laws so we'll get to sleep in tomorrow. Then nothing else is really planned for the day. I have to pack since I leave again on Monday.
Left for fencing at 9:30 and DS brought 2 friends. Class is 10:30-1 and I'm taking the hungry boys to lunch afterwards.
No plans tonight!
No plans tomorrow! Omg!!! I'm resting my shins before my race next weekend so no long runs.
And also THE PATIO IS DONE! The workers laid all the bricks in 3 days and it looks great. DH is building a pergola and grill cover so I will wait till they are done to post a pic. I'm SO glad he hired out, they saved him months of weekend work.
Currently at gymnastics. I could drop her off but used this time to menu plan and order groceries online and get out of the house. I also just scheduled haircuts since we are supposed to impress my SIL's soon to be ILs for Thanksgiving.
DS is doing charity work for cub scouts today and haircuts tomorrow.
Last week was a bit nuts with OT eval, PT and a financial appointment. Next week is going to be crazy. Going downtown to visit with a friend Tuesday. Work party Fri night. Possibly 3 things in Sat. Work Sun. Then Thanksgiving week. It's getting nuts.
FFFC. I'm a hot mess when I go to the gym. No shower, no makeup, no cute workout outfits. T-shirt, capris or yoga pants, hair up, sneakers that fit. I go to a crummy cheap gym expecting the same.
Well, it was selfie day at the gym, apparently. Everyone was in cute workout gear, hair done, make-up, taking selfies or having friends take photos. I'm sure I was in the background of a bunch, red-faced and sweating in my crappy t-shirt. Ugh. Stap.
