I have a really bad habit of keeping and maintaining personal docs on my work computer. I'm hardly ever on the computer at home. I'm thinking about trying to start using Google Drive to save just random stuff that I want to save but not delete. Does anyone else do this? Does it work for you? I'm looking at my drive and everything is just saved to the drive so I'm going to have to spend some time to sort things into folders, etc.
I've tried using google drive and I'm not a fan of the formatting. It may have changed in the last few years, but google docs and spreadsheets just weren't as robust as what I'm used to working with in Office.
I keep all my personal stuff on an encrypted flash drive that lives in my purse and back it up occasionally to my laptop at home.
I use Google Drive for a lot of random personal stuff. It works well for me to be able to access from multiple computers and to share with DH or others. I don’t use it for anything too sophisticated, so I haven’t run into any issues with it not being as robust as Office.
Examples of things I have on Google Drive: Christmas card list, ideas for presents for the kids, a spreadsheet with notes about parties we’ve thrown (how many people came, what/how much food and drink was consumed), guest lists and tracking for showers I’ve thrown, a catalog of baby gear I have (to share with my sister who is borrowing some of it), notes on completed home maintenance and renovation projects

I use it for pretty much all of my personal documents. I don't use the Google Docs or Google Spreadsheets, I just save my usual Word or Excel files in it.
I can’t access cloud storage or my USB ports from work. So I do nothing personal at work. It’s all on my laptop or phone. I have an external hard drive with back ups.

Strangely, I can't access personal email but I can access cloud storage... it really makes no sense.
k3am - at least my employer is consistent? I can’t access the Gap (nudity at Gap Body), any external email, any peripheral or storage device....I am actually surprised we are permitted to possess smart phones that take pictures. It’s unreal how locked down things are.
Until this year we were able to use flash drives at work, but now they are blocked. We also can't access cloud storage so I don't save much on my work PC. The few things I do have saved, I email to myself.
Yep, I use it for everything. That's where my spreadsheet of addresses lives, instructions for anyone watching our dog, photos I might want to access, etc. It's so nice to be able to access files from work, home, phone, iPad, etc. When we refinanced, DH and I saved all the required bank statements, paycheck stubs, etc there and it made it simple.
I use Google drive for some stuff, like addresses and Christmas lists. But we also have a paid dropbox account. It backs up all my photos and videos nightly on my phone and we store important docs in there so that DH and I can both access it from wherever.
