I'm on my 24 hrs off between switching from days to nights. Trying to figure out when to sleep to optimize sleep and such. It's not going well. Lol. I slept from 9pm-6:30 this morning. (Well with one wake up for DD) then I napped for 2 hrs this morning well she napped. (9-11) I'm going to try and get another nap in before I go to work for 6:30. I have no idea how I'm going to survive tonight.
We were unable to make it out to any remembrance (Veteran's) day events today because of pure exhaustion. Did any one go to any?

Good luck awick14! Hope you get some rest before work and your shift goes well! We didn't make it to any Veterans Day events either.
Lazy day here! Mainly hanging out. I did take C to the park and that was a lot of fun! We are going to Starbucks once they wake up for their BOGO deal. Depending on if we walk vs drive we will stop by the park on the way home. Dinner is cooked so not much left to do today!
DH is buying a new used car tomorrow. The seller is in LA. Between the boys schedules (and everyone finally being healthy and I want it to stay that way!) and the sellers limited availability I decided to have DH take the train vs us all going and dropping him off just to come back home for naps. We will drop him off in the morning, L will nap, and then I will take the boys to church (there's a small possibility we will meet up with my brother and SIL but I doubt it).
My step mom booked reservations for us to have breakfast with Mickey Mouse and friends for C's birthday (we will go 2 days before)! I am ridiculously excited about this! He is going to LOVE it!

I'm at my parents house right now. Earlier we went to a sale at a company that makes jackets and sweatshirts. They were selling them pretty cheap so H and I both got a pullover and a jacket. Then we went shopping and started some stuff for freezer meals and we'll finish those tomorrow. We're just about to go see my grandparents for a little bit!

We went to the Navy football game today which was a cool experience, and extra so since it was Veterans Day! We only stayed for the first half since we had R with us and it was pretty cold. He was a trooper.
I'm sick and so now I'm bumming on the sofa watching football with H.

What meals are you planning to make? I have quite a few pinned in Pinterest. I also offered to make some for my parents as my step mom is having surgery 11/20. Planning to make taco salad meat with black beans and corn, ground beef taco soup, beef stew, chili, burritos, and possibly some grilled carne asada and chicken.
awick14, when I'm making my switch, I stay up as late as I can the night before, usually going to bed at about 3-5am. Then I sleep through as long as I can, but usually get up about 1-2pm. Then go to work at 6:30pm. DH does all the childcare while I'm sleeping.
I have a harder time switching back to days, but usually I take a nap, about 4 hours, then go to bed around the time DH does, maybe a little later.
As for my weekend, well I'm working right now. And I'm still sick with a bad cold. But at least I'm rested. I think I slept 11 hours today. I have tomorrow off then I work Monday night. Blah.

I don't have the recipes easily accessible on my phone but this is what we're making:
Enchiladas (with homemade sauce, we tested the recipe tonight and it was good!) Stuffed shells (super easy, cook noodles, fill with ricotta cheese and spices) Honey sesame chicken (crockpot meal) Ground beef for tacos/sloppy joes
I'm hoping to also eventually make some smoothie packets and maybe precook some rice or other things, although rice doesn't take that long. Anything to make life easier!
pooh8402- that's what I did before but going back to work is kicking my ass. Going from not working to 12 hr shifts is hard. I only went to be at 9pm on Friday night because I physically couldn't keep my eyes open. But I think I will try and stay up late and then sleep as long as possible. I'm not doing too bad though. It's 3am and I'm tired but not too bad, I'm on until 6:30.

We got home from the cruise yesterday afternoon. I finally got a good night sleep last night. H ended up getting a bug on board and the noro virus was spreading around the ship. When we got off there was over 400 cases reported. I donβt think his was noro since he was able to function and had a good appetite but he still stayed mainly in the cabin to be safe. I ended up doing a lot by myself and the last 2 ports we didnβt get off the ship but thatβs ok.
Today we are stopping at SILβs for a little bit then relaxing and unpacking.
Sorry about your cruise, wineandcheese! That's a bummer. I hope you were able to do some fun stuff before he got sick.
We are heading to Target today because we need a ton of random things, and then to Home Depot to get some paint samples. We'll stop somewhere for a yummy lunch, too.
Well last night was a disaster. DD fell asleep when I was feeding her before I left for work. (Fell asleep at like 5:45) She wake up again at 9pm and he couldn't get her to take a bottle or fall back asleep until around 2, and then she was up again from 2:30-6. She woke up when I got home at 7, I fed her and she slept until 10.
I'm trying to tell dh that it will get better but he was just exhausted when I got home.

((Hugs)) awick14. That has to be so hard. It will get better though. Not sure what the best strategy would be but it might help for everything to be consistent for awhile...so if she won't take a bottle for DH when you are gone, maybe it will be helpful for her to only have bottles at night until they adjust (I am just thinking that if you nurse her MOTN when you are home she might get extra confused and never really adjust for your DH when you are at work). But I would probably ask a pediatrician for advice and go from there...

I works nights again tonight so they are just going to try and get through it, but I will be only bottle feeding her to bed and at night for a bit. (Or at least try) I felt so bad for dh when I got home but I was exhausted too.
The pediatrician I spoke to last week wasn't very helpful, she said that if DD was starving she would just take the bottle. Well I don't think that's the case. I would speak to another but here pediatricians are referrals only so it would be hard to get into another one.

Any chance your DH can do bedtime and MOTN consistently (even when you are home) for awhile to see if they work it out? That way you can go back to nursing and she will know that you=nursing and DH=bottle. It sucks that they had a hard day but this is pretty normal too. They will get through it. FWIW, L refused bottles when we tried at 3 months old. I finally gave up (didn't try too hard but he was nothing like C so I just didn't find it worth all the effort since I am home anyways). He went on a nursing strike at 9.5 months old and I was desperate so I offered a bottle which he gulped down. Hopefully it's just something that is going to take a few more days to work through. ((Hugs)) friend.
luv2rn4fun- last night was so much better. Dh put her down at 7:30/8 and she tossed and turned for 5-10 mins then slept until 3am. π when she woke up she just rocked back and forth on her stomach, not getting up or anything so dh just watched her on the camera and she went back to sleep on her own. She slept until around 8am. Dh was like a new man! I was able to get a few hours of sleep. Now I'm trying to stay awake for the rest of the day so that I can sleep tonight.

I somehow missed this. Great update!!! Glad things are going better!
