I'm leading the discussion for our Indivisible group tonight, and looking for some outside perspective. Specifically, how will your groups participate in the election process? Voter registration? Canvassing? GOTV? Candidate forums?
My county flipped blue on pretty much every position, many of them for the first time in decades or history. Currently they are rehashing what worked this time around. There's a lot of discussion on unseating our current congressional rep in 2018. Dem voter turnout was up in my county overall at 32% compared to 26% in 2015. So I think there will be a big push to get people voting.
Our groups are focusing on no safe seats, GOTV through precinct organizing, voter registration, and addressing voter IDs. We have a giant master spreadsheet of every race we are aware of and who the democratic challengers are. Every precinct theoretically should have an assigned captain who does what they feel works best to get people to vote.
