Challenge: If you celebrate Thanksgiving, do your best to cut out a bit of stress/load where you can. Delegate a task, choose an easy side dish instead of one that takes a ton of prep, designate some down time, whatever. If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, just adapt the challenge to your standard week.
Came here the other day to start this but got interrupted. Lots of travel plus lots of solo parenting plus extra-needy kid equaled little self care. I also had to care for a sick family member amongst all of that. The traveling I did was a mix of good and bad. I did also go to an event with my mom one evening. Got to do some sewing when MH needed something made.
LO and I are going to do some baking today. Thanksgiving is usually pretty laid back for my family. Not much else planned yet, though I am looking forward to an upcoming date night in a couple of weeks or so.
Between DS's PT and OT not much here. DH is back to traveling for work.
I did have a work party last night and date night tonight. It's important to get out of the house without the kids even more so when he travels and I have to do everything while he is gone.
Next week should be interesting because the kids are both off all week and we are taking turns being off with them. Probably be too much together time. We are sending DD to care Tuesday so DS can go to OT without DD bouncing all around. Not sure how she will feel about that.

Friday was my self-care day. I went to therapy, then had my mammogram, then spent the rest of the afternoon at the spa. Early bedtime.
For Thanksgiving we are doing a joint dinner with DS's dad on Tuesday. I have to work all day, so I am going to do some prep tomorrow but am delegating the rest of the cooking to DS's dad.
We are going to be doing a larger potluck on Thursday and I'm roasting a turkey for that, but I feel like I've got turkey roasting down, so the hardest part will just be the logistics of getting the bird to the place.

I exercised yesterday at home and have gym time scheduled tomorrow and thanksgiving morning. I have fallen off of the exercise wagon the past several months and it has had a large negative effect on my patience and personal resilience. I am trying hard to get back into a good routine for myself.
