No thread yet for today? I had a really lousy day yesterday, including losing a decent-sized check, and I've been freaking out about it. My last hope was that it was at work. Well, this morning, I went to leave for work, and guess what I found on the ground in the carport? I was SO relieved! And the check has since been deposited!
Yesterday, I was a freaking rockstar. I solved 2 emergencies and closed out 1 project, I spoke to my wedding venue, my wedding florist, made a pre-wedding botox appointment, chlorox'd every doorknob and light switch in the house, and made it to yoga class.
Today? Today is a cluster. No one is reading emails thoroughly and is sending out half-assed responses, and employee's grandma passed away this morning unexpectedly, I rushed out to make a return at lunchtime, got home and noticed they did not credit me for all the items I returned, etc.
On the plus side, today is my Friday. At least there's an end in sight.
In "what other strange things could happen" news, the owner of the horse I'm seeing tomorrow messages me. We're not meeting at her farm due to whatever her insurance policy is, but instead at a local to her area. That's cool, I get it, she gave me the address earlier in the week when we made the appointment.
Today she texts and asks if I would mind splitting the $20 ring fee with her (a charge for her to bring an outside horse to that barn) because she's had a ton of people ride him and it's adding up. LOL. I want to ask if she's going to split my turnpike tolls with me, because all this horse shopping has really added up! I haven't actually responded to her yet, because all I can think of is snarky lines, and I really do want to try her horse. I think I'm probably going to show up tomorrow and OH SHOOT, I forgot to take out any cash. So sorry!
But seriously, she wants $10 from me to ride the horse she's selling for thousands? Maybe she should have just taken out a short-term insurance policy and not needed to haul her horse elsewhere for trial rides.
I'm excited to get back to my Thursday night gym class again tonight and glad to be settling into somewhat of a regular routine again. The weekend is so close. I can't wait to dive into boxes and start really unpacking the house. Am I sick?? Haha. A's parents brought down old ratty towels with them (that must be where he gets keeping everything he's ever owned) so I made an executive decision and threw them out. I did tell him, he didn't mind, but why would you bring people old ratty towels with rips and holes in them?? WHY wouldn't you just throw them away?
I got an email from the apartment manager yesterday (after a week of silence) and she agreed that based on my pictures (not even going through my file - why wouldn't they double check the file? Whatever) that it was not their washer and she'd make a note of it for final walk through. My friend who used to be the property manager is going to come with me for the final walk through because he knows all the renting laws in NC, which makes me feel more relief. I can't wait to be done with these people.
LOL doglove I save old ratty towels, but they're for wiping muddy paws and hooves! I can't imagine actually putting them in the linen closet or anything - they sit in a stack on the floor under my utility sink in the laundry room.

Yes we have 345974389574 dog towels like that, these were ... different? They had stickers with his grandmother's name on them and sharpeed numbers on them as well. I think they just brought all her stuff down without even looking to see - hey is this even usable? They were small towels too like wash clothes, hand towels, etc. There are many bags and boxes of this type of stuff. Thank goodness A said we could trash whatever "we" don't want. And by we, I'm positive he means me. Haha!

chalupa, I would be annoyed at that. I mean, c'mon, it isn't like you are going to ride her horse for 45 minutes, are you? I'm guessing you will know pretty quickly if you want him or not. That's pretty tacky, IMHO.
doglove, I do the same! My ratty towels are either dog washing towels or dog feet wiping towels. And, because I have to be twinsies with chalupa, mine also live in my laundry room, lol.
bullygirl979 I have definitely ridden a sales horse for 40 minutes before! But it's still hitting me as tacky. I am going to drive 5 hours each direction to see a horse, and will pay about $20 in tolls each way. And she's going to ask me for $10 because she doesn't have proper insurance? Her cost of showing her horse is solidly not my problem, just like it's not her problem how much I'll spend in tolls or gas to go see the horse. I'm just flabbergasted. And I'm going to "forget" to have cash on me for sure, because I'm certainly not going to reply to that message to agree to split the cost.
It's a good thing for her that this horse is cute!
udscoobychick, I'm REALLY hoping your find situation will happen to me too! And it's so weird...everyone around me seems to be losing/finding things the last few days. So first I have my jewelry pouch issue which I'm HOPING to find at home when I get there. Then yesterday I settle in to read before bed and realize I can't find my cashmere wrap that I always travel with. I contact my Uber driver who indicates he does have it. He dropped it off at my hotel this morning and I was so relieved to get it back. Then this afternoon after my co-worker drops me back at the hotel and heads to the airport I get a text from him saying he's left his prescription sunglasses in his hotel room. I go down to the front desk and they have in fact found them. Yay for two found items! Now fingers crossed for the third.
And first class seat guy emailed me to ask me to lunch. With travel schedules and the holiday we can't make it happen until 11/27 but it's planned.
