We just bought a new house and I'm trying to get as much set up as possible so I can purchase beforehand. I am horrible at coordinating patterned fabrics and figured (HOPED!) you all could help me out
We already have this duvet from West Elm (with white sheets and a yellow quilt that matches that yellow stripe).
Would curtains made from this fabric be too matchy matchy? Or totally wrong?
We have yet to pick a paint color but I've been thinking of a dark and dramatic blue. Thoughts on that as well?

I don't really like them together. I'd do something less stripey and more geometric. Like a trellis pattern or even some modern leaves or something in the same colors.
Or, if you really like the chevron (I love chevron) they make Premier Prints chevron in lots of colors. If you go blue with the walls, yellow chevron. It might get busy, though, so I would do one panel on each side and maybe a panel of solid white next to it. Know what I mean?
Wino- how do you pick a good yellow color? I tried finding one once and it was impossible. The room quickly became green.
My husband works for Sherwin Williams
Most of the time he custom blends something or can color match it. I think he has some sort of gift when it comes to colors. I'm being serious... lol... or it's because he's been doing it for 20yrs.
Before we were married all the colors in my apartment were custom colors. I would describe to him what I wanted and he would bring colors back to me that would turn out better than I had imagined.
If you have a local store near you someone in the store should be able to help you color match your yellow fabric with wall color. You could always take in your sham/pillow case to show them exactly what you want.
I'd also go during the day on a week day because that is when the managers and the most experienced help are in the stores. I'd try to stay away on weekends when they only have their part-time help working.
I'm partial to blue and dark walls (if the room can take it) so I'd paint dark blue with those sheets. I love how bright colors really stand out against a dark wall...if you were going to go the safer route, I'd go with pale grey which would lend to a more airy feel...and if you love yellow, that would be the other option.
I also wouldn't pair chevron with that bedding, since the stripes are already very geometric. Maybe some solid panels that are color blocked on the bottom or a wide stripe through the middle...
