We're just hanging out at home this weekend minus H working a few hours tomorrow morning. Hoping to get some cleaning done! Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

DH got free tickets for the basketball game at his school so we're going there this afternoon.
We had a gift certificate for a fancy donut place that we cashed in this morning and OMG delicious! But I made the mistake of eating 2 and now I feel sick.
C has another cold (runny nose and cough). He’s been on and off (mostly on) for over a month now. Poor kiddo can’t sleep and he has been a beast today. I ended up taking him for a walk during L’s nap and took both of them before PM naps (this was easier than hanging out at home because it was just me parenting (DH is doing car maintenance) and C wasn’t being nice to L and in general testing me). I have almost 15k steps in already today.

It’s operation “get the house ready for Christmas decorations” day here. H is working so I’m going to go through our decorations and hang the lights outside since it’s going to be 50 degrees today. H doesn’t let me put decorations up until the Friday after thanksgiving. Growing up, we decorated the first week of November and his family did it the first week of December so our compromise is the day after thanksgiving. I may put out a few some decorations. We didn’t decorate last year since we weren’t home so I’m excited to do it this year. my mom is coming over later for dinner too so I’ll have her help me place a few sentimental items that were my grandpa’s that he loved.
We had a great day yesterday! Worked out, leftover pizza, library, dinner out, then bought our first big (artificial) Christmas tree.
All the fun ended when a storm blew threw shortly before midnight and knocked out the power. No ETA, could be several days so we are at my mom's house until it's restored.
We ended up doing a Sam's run yesterday to stock up on some things, then did get a little cleaning done. Today one of our friends is stopping over for a bit soon. I'm relaxing with a cup of Caribou reindeer blend which is delicious! I can't remember if I've had it before but I've heard good things. Not disappointed!

DH’s Aunt is racing in her first Ironman triathlon today. It’s the same event I did in 2009 as my last ironman. I downloaded the athlete tracker app and am enjoying getting updates on her progress! So far she has completed the swim and 85 miles on the bike! She’s looking good and I hope she can keep this up the remainder of her race!
Birthday party went great! It's the first time I've enjoyed hosting. Unfortunately my back is out of alignment so I'm super sore from being on my feet all day. I'm thinking tomorrow is a good day to stay home and rest and hope the new toys will keep the girls busy.
I officially started Christmas shopping last night. Woot!

Hold up....85 miles? There is a THING that consists of more than 85 miles? OMG, I feel faint thinking about the that!!!

Ironman is a triathlon (swim bike run) where you swim 2.4 miles, bike 112, and then run a marathon (26.2 miles). It starts at 7a and you have to finish by midnight to be an official finisher. They also have time cutoffs throughout the course that you have to make.
She finished!! 15:53! She is 60 years old...talk about inspiring! They also had a few older (I think 75-79 year old men age group at a participant).
ETA: I have done 3 full Ironman (and finished anywhere 12:32-13:28) and 3 half Ironman...my last one was in 2009. I have said for a long time that I am done with them/never again (not because of the race but because of how much training is involved, it consumes your life) but I have had moments recently where I can see that I might be interested when the boys are out of the house.
luv2rn4fun That is NOT HUMAN! lol Impressive, but not human!
LOL. Ironmans motto is “anything is possible”. The crazy thing is that there are some seriously inspiring stories about burn victims, amputee athletes, etc that have raced at the world championships in Kona. Those people amaze me! It is truly one of the hardest things I have done and when you get to that level your mindset totally changes to where you are rejoicing when you get off the bike and ONLY have a marathon to go! I finally qualified for the Boston marathon in 2012 after many attempts prior to my Ironman days. Ironman built me up mentally and once my marathon training was right it was the perfect setup for a qualifying race (and a 30 min personal best)!
