I'm new, having followed during the exodus, so hope you don't mind if I jump in!
I recall a thread months ago on TN regarding best products for concealing dark circles. Usually I use a tinted moisturizer, stick concealer under eyes and on uneven patches (not really ever for blemishes), and a stila powder on my face. All of the concealers I've tried (stila, Laura mercier, ulta and sephora) don't seem to cut it. I used to use a clarins filler that helped somewhat, but made my undereye area too slippery for subsequent concealer. What should I be trying specifically to address covering dark circles? Puffiness isn't really an issue (I saw the other post on that) it's the actual dark patches I am worried about.
TIA and also thanks for being open to new posters!
I have really dark undereye circles, and two products work great for me - the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind brightener mentioned in Beagle's post, and the Bobbi Brown brightener. Regular concealers usually don't work well for me, as I think they're designed more for your face, and they often have a yellow undertone, which just makes my undereye circles looks worse. I look for something with a nice pink undertone, it brightens everything up.

I'm using Benefit's Erase Paste. I think it is decent as a concealer but find it slippery like you said. I also don't think it does a great job at concealing under eye bags but it does make your eyes look brighter and less tired since it has some of the same highlighting agents that the Eye Bright has. I think the Bobbi Brown corrector/concealer will be my next purchase for under eyes, however, since everyone seems to like it.
Cle de Peau is supposedly the holy grail for under eye concealers, or just concealers in general. It has a hefty price tag but honestly if it works I tend to go for it regardless of $$ (within reason obv)
I use the Maybelline Age Rewind eraser in Neutralizer and then layer a colored concealer over top (which one depends how tanned I am, but usually either the age rewind eraser in light, or the darker shade in the Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda concealer palette.)
There are so many concealers that I have tried that dont work very well but this combo is perfect for me.
Pretty much any concealer a touch lighter than your foundation and THIS brush. I've personally been using Benefit Boing or the Maybelline twist-up ones, but really, they're mostly all the same.
Seriously. I have terrible allergies which results in DARK under-eye circles. This brush is AWESOME. It helps pack on the concealer without looking or feeling cakey.
swizzlestix, thank you so much for this brush recommendation! I also have bad allergy under-eye circles, and feel like I've tried everything. I picked it up over the weekend, and I LOOOOVE it! I was using a MAC brush before and it was alright, but this is so much better. So glad I saw your post!
