I need two new pair of snow boots. One pair for playing with the kids and one pair for commuting. Any recommendations? They need to have decent support and I am willing to spend some money since they will last a good few years.
I’m a big fan of LL Bean. I’ve had a pair of tall “duck boots” since before they were back in style. They no longer make the exact style, but they are great for snow/mud/puddles. My feet never get cold or wet.
I just bought a pair of these boots for commuting / walking around town in the winter. I haven’t put them to heavy use yet, but they are comfy.

I'm no help with snow boots, but for @orangebird2020 I wear dresses to work all of the time with no hose. I would say no hose even if it is cold outside unless you are in a super conservative, business formal type work environment. If my legs are cold I will wear tall boots and/or leggings underneath.

@orangebird2020, I like tights. Some are knit and some are opaque. I like to wear hose, but it's really out of style now... :/
Stay away from Target brand Merona. They run really small. I should have ample room in a 1x, but it fits like a M.
I like Spanx tights. Really good quality, thick, hard to puncture, and they shape well. I got the 2-in-1 reversible kind (black on one side and brown on the other) and they're rock star. They're on Amazon, but JCP carries the Spanx brand too.
Never buy juniors tights. No matter what. Unless you are the size of a child.
@orangebird2020, Spanx tights are basically the best thing ever. EVER. They don't rip or run and the waist hits high enough that even if you don't have anything for them to suck in, they're not going to give you that weird muffin top and you won't spend the day adjusting them.
