Thanks ladies! He’s doing better this morning but hardly slept last night. Nurse said we are here for at least tonight...he has to do well while sleeping without oxygen (right now he’s on a 2 setting so we have to get to 0).
pooh8402- what ar typical pass criteria for O2 levels? He’s down to setting 1 but O2 is 93-95 average while sleeping.
92? That's where I'm usually content, although I prefer 95+. Depends on the doctor and the patient, really. What are his levels while awake?
I'm sorry y'all are in the hospital. I hope he's on the mend and y'all get to go home soon!
Awake 96-100 unless he’s worked up. He’s asleep on 1 now and is 95-97. They tried weaning while I went to get lunch and he was too labored. I hope we can try no O2 tonight but I think we are a little behind if we want to go home tomorrow.
To make things worse this is costing $1k, which is way higher than our old insurance and it’s stressing DH out, which I get but our baby is super sick and I could care less about money stress right now (we just had L’s bday, DH bday, C bday right before Christmas so it’s not “good” timing). I tried to warn him about this when he accepted the job...salary was lateral but medical made it a pay cut.
amaranth- I wish but I am still nursing so it’s not realistic by any means. The boob really helped calm him last night and he is much better for me than DH. As it is DH might go to work tomorrow if we get released (not likely to happen though, at least not at a time where DH can still make it to work unless we have someone watch C)
Just catching up. Huge hugs luv2rn4fun. So sorry that L is so sick. I can’t imagine how stressful that must be for you and your family especially with C to care for too. I hope tonight goes well and you get home ASAP! I’ll keep you guys in my thoughts.

He’s off oxygen for now! Doing ok, hanging around 94 so far but he just fell asleep. Poor guy is so tired (I am too). I hope he sleeps well tonight and that he does well so we can go home tomorrow.
luv2rn4fun good news! Hope you're both able to get some rest tonight!
Thanks! He’s sleeping (I should be too). Unfortunately, his levels are low and oxygen is back on (0.5 for now but I have a feeling we are going back to 1 soon because the alarm keeps going off and he’s hanging around 90-91). It’s going to be another long night 🙁. And I have to use the bathroom but last time I tried he woke up when I opened the door and I don’t want to wake him.

Ugh, dang.
Yeah, not too thrilled about being back on oxygen. I think he’s stable at 0.5 though (I could be wrong but I think that was the last update). She just had to wake him up to put chest leads on because his HR alarm kept going off. He’s fine but trying to get him back to sleep. Thankfully I got a couple broken hours of sleep. The nurse brought me coffee so I am going to drink it and go to bed. He has another breathing treatment at 3:30 so hopefully we all sleep through that and get a decent stretch of sleep.

Thanks ladies! Just talked to the nurse. He’s been off O2 since 4a with no de sats. She says it’s 50/50 if we go home today. We still have to do asthma education etc and the doctor might want a longer stretch of sleep without O2.
Happy happy birthday wineandcheese! Hope your day is as amazing as you!

Good news and bad news today. The good news is @ related so I'll start with the bad lol.
H attempted to bring E into DC and go to work but apparently his car doesn't want to go anywhere. So he had to take PTO which he only has a few days left of and we probably need to buy a starter or battery or something probably not cheap. So.. yay. Ugh.
But in good news, baby is head down and looks good. So FX she stays that way and I can avoid a c-section!

We have a great chance at going home today!! He’s off oxygen and napping well so far! Hoping he naps for another 30 min or so and we start the discharge process when he wakes up so he can nap at home this afternoon!
My friend with ALS was officially put on hospice. I've reached out to his wife, also my friend, to check on them. I'm processing today. Recruiting nurses for that industry, I had a feeling it was soon. He's had certain requests that tend to indicate things are soon....just weird.
My day is just a little off. Things aren't going quite as planned and I'm trying to roll with it but I'm just being grumpy. Now that we are back home things are feeling better. Just gotta get out of this funky mood.

So so many ((Hugs)) MrsMB. Praying for all involved.
They decided to discharge L today!! We are home! He’s napping (they both are actually)! Feels good to be home! We need to have a phone appointment with the asthma educator and a follow up next week with his pediatrician. A little overwhelmed by all the meds they sent us home with. I just hope he continues to improve and we can stay out of the hospital!
I have a sinus infection, uuuuggggghhhhhh! I don't have time for this! It came on really suddenly too, at 9:30 this morning. If I'm not better by Friday I'll go to an urgent care place, but this is really supposed to be managed by my ENT.
