Thanksgiving week in the States!
E has her first illness . She is stuffy, but when I try to suction her out I get nothing. No fever. We put a humidifier in her room, but I'm not sure it's helping. She's in good spirits though, so that's good. She also had diarrhea yesterday, not sure what from, with a nice diaper rash to go along with it. I'm so tired because she was up a few times in the night, luckily she went back to sleep quickly but I didn't.
My baby started crawling yesterday! And I am 1000 miles away working All I've seen so far is one video from my H. When did I become the parent who misses everything? This amount of travel is not normal for my job and I can't wait for it to settle down again.
Also, what is my 7 month old doing crawling?! Just 2 weeks ago she figured out how to get herself to sitting from laying down, then last week she started pulling up, now she's crawling! Slow down baby! My son didn't crawl til 9 months so I thought we had more time.
thoseareradishes, poor little E! I hope she gets unstuffed soon! Are you using the nose frida or just a regular suction thing? The humidifier might take a couple of days but hopefully it will help.
mpc, she is so cute! that is amazing that she is crawling, but it sucks that you aren't there to see it
S started REALIZING that he can make noise. He has been very vocal for awhile now, but as of this weekend, he knows he is doing it. He does it and looks to us for approval. His faces are so adorable, we both keep melting looking at him. But he has been regressing a bit with his sleep, so we are exhausted.
We're doing a planned c-section, so I guess I'm halfway there. OMG. We have our anatomy scan in a week and a half, then we'll start registering.
I have to have a second surgery on the 1st since I'm still dealing with this abscess. It'll be under a spinal again, so safest for baby, but I'm so tired of dealing with it and I feel like I'm exposing him to way too much. I think back to the things that caused this and am so angry about it. It has taken away a lot of the enjoyment of being pregnant since I'm in constant discomfort. I'm so bitter about it.
shauni27 how old is your lo? J also realized he is the one making noises and grins when he does it and wants us to mimic him. We've also been In a sleep regression for the past week and it's killing me.

shauni27, yep, we have both, a nose frida and regular snot sucker. All the congestion must be way back in her nose. She seemed better as the day went on so I'm hopeful she's on the upswing.
kellikans, I hope your next surgery fixes you all up and you can start to enjoy your pregnancy.
Things are good here. Getting ready for Christmas and H's visit. He's feeling pretty sorry for himself this week, since thanksgiving is such a big deal in the US, and he's all alone. He's got one party he can attend, but it's not what he really wants, which is to be with us.
A is doing so well at daycare! She knows all her colours and numbers to ten, plus her motor skills have massively improved. My only worry is that her French has regressed and she might not catch up to the level required for her francophone preschool next year. I try my best to speak it with her, but she's already resisting, refusing to use French words when she knows what they are. But her daycare provider is so amazing in every other way, I don't regret sending her there.
We are all sick in my house. Just a cold but between the baby waking up a million times a night since he's unable to breathe through his nose and the rest of us already tired and stuffy, we're all a bit miserable. But he's reaching peak cuteness lately, saying I love you (iiiiyouuuu) to us and "get down!" to himself as he climbs up on things he isn't supposed to.

Things are going well here, just gearing up for Thanksgiving. G has a referral to the large pediatric hospital early next month to take a look at his head (flat spot on the side) but it already looks to be filling out so I doubt anything will come of it. We’ll keep the appointment just in case, but I’m far less concerned now.
We’ve just been watching him grow and change so much, especially in the last month or two. He’s passing toys back and forth between his hands, “talking” to himself and the other babies at daycare, and really just growing up overall. It’s incredible to watch!

This is my absolute favorite part of parenting, and it never gets old, and I don't think it ever will. I swear, she'll be 40 years old, and I'll exclaim to DH, "Did you see the way she was talking about her retirement savings? Just like a real person! I can't believe how smart she is! Omg, it's so cute!"

thoseareradishes , I'm sorry E was sick and hope she's on the mend. What about saline drops for the mucus? My pedi recommended them, but DS never got so stopped up that I've used them yet.
cactuscookie , oneslybookworm , ha, it makes me so sad! We say the same thing--it's amazing that he started out as this little potato and now he's holding his head up, looking around, giggling, etc, but I always say he looks like a real boy now. Where is my teeny tiny baby?! It goes by too fast.
We also did Christmas card photos this year because I wanted one of the three of us. Here are my two favorites (PDQ, will DD).
oh my word, cherryvalance!! HE IS TOO MUCH! I feckin love it.
oneslybookworm, I love watching Sage advance as well. It is so fun and exciting with every new thing he learns! I am also glad to hear that G's head is shaping out--I still feel like S's is way too flat. He has an appointment with his Pedi on Monday and I want to talk to her about it.

Same. A was a very cute little baby, but I love watching her grow. Things just keep getting better and better. She's really into imaginative play, and it's so cool to watch her come up with little scenarios for her stuffies and cars.
Thank you everyone for the kind words and thoughts, the waiting for the actual miscarriage is, well, not fun. But I hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving.
pooh8402 wishing you the best of luck in your next cycle!
dellabear hope everyone in your family feel better asap.

Well, that didn't go well. We drove 1.15 hour to my sister's house, E was happy for about 10 minutes, then lost her shit. We ended up trying to feed her in the basement, had to take turns eating, and left as soon as dinner was over. I think we're going to end up just staying home for Christmas.
