My Monday started with being locked out of my work's remote access. So I call the helpdesk, and was clearly not the only one with issues this morning, because my wait time was freaking 1 hour, 15 min. JFC. How do they expect people to get work done?
Now I'm logged back in, and wish I wasn't
I am waiting to hear back from vets - I found a horse on Friday, put down a deposit, and now need to get his prepurchase exam scheduled. The holiday will make that a bit tougher than usual, boo. Cross your fingers this horse passes his exam and can come home with me! (I will be more than a bit bummed out if I have to make the 8 hour roundtrip drive again this week and come back with an empty trailer).

My Monday actually isn't bad. I'm working from home as I have other client calls that I can't be in my office for. However, the timing is excellent as we fly to Houston tomorrow which means I can get a jump on laundry and packing.
Also, my house is CLEAN which feels awesome. We finished the great room and hung the new curtain rods. Yesterday we spent the day doing an entire deep clean on the house, including mopping every room. We also ordered our new king sized bed and armchair for our bedroom. Our designer came by yesterday and we hammered out more details for the room. I am BEYOND excited about how this will look.
I couldn't get out of bed this morning, so I slept in a bit. Poor Buddy is still sick, he must have a bug in his stomach. We're headed to the vet tomorrow for that and his annual exam. I'm excited about the holiday this week and getting our xmas tree on Friday. I'm also glad A is home and we can resume somewhat of a normal life until our crazy Christmas travels.
Also, London pulled away from his leash this morning and ran away. Heart attack. He ran and ran and ran (on his decrepit legs) until he could run no more and finally came back.
We'll be walking with my hands free running leash from now on that clips around my waist!
doglove ugh to Huskys and their running! Hope London's back is no worse for the wear after his little outing.
I hope not either, that was terrifying to see him run like that!

I went to bed early last night AND slept in this morning. I needed it.
The weekend was really nice. Friday night I didn't get home until around 10:30pm. The flight was really nice though. I used miles to upgrade to first class where they had the flat bed seats. So I had my own little pod to hang out in for 5 hours. I made sure I got all of my work done before the flight so that I could just eat, drink, and watch movies. I got home and my jewelry pouch was NOT here so I've opened a case with the airport to see if it was found (not holding out hope) and will call my home owners insurance today to see what, if anything, they can do for me. I've resigned myself to the fact it's just gone though.
Saturday I watched football. My team just barely won but a W is a W so I'll take it. After that I dug out my Thanksgiving decorations and started setting the table. I pulled the table leaves out and it's amazing how huge it is with those out. There will be 9 of us for dinner on Thursday and I can actually comfortably seat everyone. Then I went and ran some errands. Didn't do anything Saturday night.
Sunday I went to brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. There were probably 15 of us there and it was really relaxed and fun. There's one girl though who I've met no less than 4 times who introduces herself to me every.damn.time. I see her. I mean, I get I look different with my hair short but come on. We've met FOUR times. Anyway, after that I hung out with my neighbors and watched This is Us. I love that show but damn does it make me cry.

I don't know if I told you all, but a few months ago someone with the state government told me a potential position that was opening up. I know all the people who work in the same unit as the field my job is in. They actually had bounced around my name for the position and when I talked to the woman hiring for the job (someone I have known for years) she said she would love to have me in their division. I told her I'd need X salary and she said that's what she'd ask for. Meanwhile I met some of the other members of the unit and have kept in touch with them on FB. As the weeks have gone by, the head woman has continuously checked my linkedin page.
This morning I got to work with an email from a woman I know in the state that's also in that unit (not the same one who is going to be making the hire) that she was forwarding the job that was posted last night. The range is 20k higher than the top of my current job range and the hiring range is right where I need assuming they'd give me the top of it.
This is very exciting guys!! I love my job, but the people I have to work with make it miserable and my boss will be retiring in about 5-6 months and I don't think I can work for the guy under him if they promote him. Chances are likely they will promote him too.
I hope not either, that was terrifying to see him run like that!

Yes, I believe London has done this when A visited his dad in previous winters before his back was injured. It was terrifying that not even a broken back stops this dog!
I have to go to my supervisor's office for meetings. I will be driving down Monday morning as we have a 12-3pm prep session. Staying overnight. Then the "real" meeting is the next day and it's scheduled for 8 hours. Office is 3-3.5 hours away. I'm trying to figure out if I should stay in a hotel that night, as well, and drive back the next day.
On one hand, I hate driving home until 8:30-9pm and then getting up the next day for work. But, if the meeting ends early, it's kinda dumb to stay an extra night. Thoughts?
If there's nothing you want to do/see downtown, I vote for having a cup of coffee and going home. I like my own bed far better than a pointless night in a hotel room SaveSave
Ha. I actually just deleted it as I realized I can't drive home the next day as I have an 11am meeting that I have to be there for. So, i'm going home and may just sleep in the next day and go in a little late.

Oh no, kaneen! I was so hoping that your jewelry was at home. doglove, sounds like a great opportunity!
I had a good weekend. Video shoots went ok, and our party on Saturday night was fun. I totally crashed, though...a combination of lack of sleep + alcohol. People were still here, and I went inside to get some water or something, decided to lay down for a quick moment, and woke up the next morning at 10 am. DH said he had to take my glasses off, and I never even stirred. I was exhausted. But there is SO MUCH FOOD left over from the party, and we're headed out of town tomorrow. Thankfully, a lot of it is lasagna, which I will freeze.
Last night I went to opening night of a musical with my friend and then we went to the after-party which was fabulous! Great music, fun decor, great people watching, good food, and a hosted bar. We were there until the party shut down, I think it was midnight.
Friday night I went to a local hockey game with one of my friends, then out afterwards. There was a guy sitting behind us with his parents at the game and when we tried to take a selfie, they tried to photobomb. Later, we took another and invited them into the photo so then he asked me to send the photo to him and gave me his number. In front of his parents! I was impressed.
Saturday I went out for a friend's birthday party and was out way too late, but had a fun time.
Yesterday I also got a manicure. I went there all dressed up for the musical already, since we were going in on standby and needed to be there early.
Want to hear something crazy? So I called vets to schedule an exam for the horse I want to buy. One called me back in confusion - another buyer had called them to schedule an exam for the SAME HORSE for Friday. Uhhh, what? I paid 50% down and have a signed contract. Color me confused and suspicious. Called my seller back - she was completely clueless. Apparently someone else who rode the horse before me decided they did want to buy him, and rather than call and make sure the horse was still for sale, they just set up a vet appointment. Who does that?
And what are the odds that, living 4 hours away, I called the exact same vet practice this other person did? The poor office assistant and I were both so confused
At least my vet exam is on Wednesday, so if some crazy not-buyer shows up on Friday morning, my horse and I are far, far away. Or he doesn't pass a vetting and they can have him

Wow that's really weird chalupa. Horses must be so scarce that people are looking that far away to find one?? That's crazy they wouldn't confirm with the seller though.

Well, it is fairly common knowledge that horse people are crazy. It's just the degree of craziness that varies! I actually called the seller to ask if she'd accepted a contingency offer or something, because I cannot imagine just calling to set up a vetting with no agreement.
I feel bad for the seller having to deal with this person, because if that person still shows up on Friday to vet the horse - it will 1. not be there and 2. she keeps her horses at her house, not a boarding facility. So she potentially has an angry buyer standing on her personal doorstep.

chalupa, WTF. That's crazy. I hope he's healthy and comes home with you.
My weekend was really good. We surprised my friend on Friday, she had no idea about the party and was so happy that we pulled something together. We had a great time but I was up soooo late. Saturday I worked, then met with the local gbcners for a thanksgiving coffee tasting. Our sides hurt from laughing so much, I love them so so much and needed it.
Yesterday, I just hung out with the kids
Today is my last rehearsal before the big performance this weekend. I am nervous and excited all at once.
chalupa, WTF? That is so crazy. Why would anyone just assume that? And the seller knows nothing about it? lol Yeah, I don't think this person will be getting the horse! I hope it works out for you though!
I had a good weekend. The basketball game on Sunday was a hit! The kids had a lot of fun. Saturday was the Santa Claus parade, and the rain held off just long enough for the parade to finish, so that was good.
