Hey kids...what's going on today? Anyone else working this week?
I pulled off a small miracle at work today and am feeling like every once in a while I can actually do good things for people! This feeling shouldn't last too long
I had a really great date last night and at one point, he said "I feel like you and I have really good chemistry" and I'm all "yeeeesss!!" No kissing, but we hugged at the end and he said he wants to take me on a "real date," which was adorable. Plus he's eager to drive here, which is a real nice change in my world.
My girl called me to tell me one of her friends thinks everyone should have a mom like me because she was telling him how she tells me "pretty much everything."
I'm working today and have a bunch of stuff to get done so that I can be off the rest of the week....and really be off and not work. I need the downtime although with a bunch of family coming to town for the holiday I'm not sure it can really be considered downtime.
I have a lunch date with the guy I met on the plane last week. He's traveling this week so it's not until Monday but still I'm excited.
I'm not working, I'm off all week. Today I'm going to get a haircut and then come home and work on unpacking plastic boxes to take back to my parents (borrowed them when I moved) and packing to go up to my parents' house.
Tonight I have a date. The guy found out I'm also part Italian, so he promised me wine and cheese on our first date. It sounds like a proper first date! We'll see how it goes, we're still only talking through the app, but he's shown good initiative and follow through so far.
This has been the crappiest craptastic day. Brought Buddy into the vet hoping he just had a stomach bug and nope, tumors on his spleen bleeding into his abdomen making him sick. He had emergency surgery and they have to send the spleen and a biopsy of his liver to pathology to determine whether it is in the 50% or benign masses and it was removed with this surgery or if it’s in the 50% of malignant cancers in which he probably has a few weeks to maybe a couple months to live. I won’t know for 5-10 days. The vet said there were no abnormalities in his chest/heart or on the liver that would indicate that it was malignant so fingers crossed it was just benign and he goes on to live a healthy rest of his life. I’m waiting to pick him up now.
I got a call from the woman hiring that job I posted about earlier this week. She said they all wanted me to work with them, but she basically had a huge fight with HR because they require the candidate to have their professional engineering certification - one I don’t have and can’t easily obtain never the less obtain in two weeks. So I don’t qualify for that job. Blah.
Staying home from work tomorrow to care for Buddy. Hopefully get some sleep tonight although I think I’ll have to sleep on the futon downstairs since he won’t be going up the stairs for a few weeks while he heals.
I'm sorry doglove. I hate that you have to wait so long for answers. I'll be keeping good thoughts for you and Buddy and will ask my mom to pray for him.
Thanks guys, it was good news when I went to pick him up. The vet said all his other organs looked great and healthy, so fingers crossed the spleen was the only problem and now it’s gone. She toon out 2.5 liters of blood from his abdomen and he has lost 11 goal pounds from this morning with the size of the spleen. He’s resting comfortably tonight. ❤️❤️

We're back at our hotel...trying to get together with a friend of mine, but he has't called yet, and I'm not really interested in going out at 10 pm, knowing that we'll be out for a couple of hours. Boo.
On the bright side, my dad and I made over 100 ravioli today...we'll be set for Thanksgiving and then some!
