I will say, I LOVE watching him play sports. He tried out for soccer in the fall and did not make it. They only had 23 kids. He decided to just sign up for cross country and did amazing.
Started at 10:05 a mile amd his last race was 7:30 a mile.
It would obv be nice for him to make it. But either way he will still play rec basketball.
Thanks, I hope so. I did warn him though as a 6th grader, its very difficult to make the teams. Its so hard seeing the kids get cut. Our school has a no list policy, do coaches MUST speak to them one on one and deliver the news. 60+ kids lined in the hall. I understand why principal had such a rule but its tough on kids who get cut because their friends are asking the second they exit the room. Most walked out holding back tears, a few cry. It takes forever because my son hangs out in back of line so almost everyone is gone by the time he goes in. Only 2 kids behind him.

I am so glad our 6th graders can’t play jv or varsity. They can’t play school sports until 7th grade at all and only the fabulous ones get to try for the hs teams.

Oh, I am glad they can play! My son had a fantastic time in Cross Country. Its a sign up sport (no tryouts), and we have Track in the spring. Hoping, he signs up but not sure he will. The only other sport is baseball and B stopped playing baseball a few years ago after soccer stole his heart. lol.
