M and I need to get our marriage license. I look up the hours and info for our local courthouse, and at the bottom of a page is a note that says they charge an additional $10 in fees for each party that has been previously divorced. WTAF? This is the same county where I got divorced - I've paid them plenty for that freaking divorce decree already.
I informed M that we are going to drive 15 minutes longer to go to a different county, whose fees are somehow lower and do not contain any judgmental extras for those of us who have been previously divorced.
$10 isn't some huge amount, but I am SO TICKED OFF nonetheless. LOL
Do you think they do that to give people pause before marrying again? That's just stupid!
Thursday....my long ass work day. I'm rocking heels and planning to kick ass though, so that's something lol! Is it too early to start making a packing list for vacation? T-minus 25 days until we're on a beach! I cannot wait!
I'm adding a WTF, too...apparently the asshole who organized the "Unite the Right" rally last year has filed a permit to be able to host another one this August, in commemoration of the 1-year anniversary. Yaknow, because the last one went so well, what with the Nazis and murder and all.

Ugh! I'm at the point where I feel like I need to start showing up to counter some of these terrible rallies/protests. We had westboro baptist protesting at a freaking high school here a few months ago. I'd planned to go, until I heard that the westboro folks apparently took one look at the counter protest already assembled and did not get out of their cars! Bwahahaha. SaveSave
I'd be annoyed by that as well chalupa. Although logically they probably charge that because they have to verify the divorce is final...maybe? I had an annoyance along the same lines. When I got divorced changing my name back required a court order. So I had to jump through a bunch of hoops, file some extra paperwork, and then wait for some judge to "approve" the change. Um, when I got married all I had to do to change my name was to produce my marriage certificate. So basically if I want to take my husband's name, no biggee. But if I want to take THE NAME I WAS GIVEN AT BIRTH AND THAT IS ON MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE back I have to have some old man judge give his approval. Bullshit.
Got home last night around 8:30pm. Decided that was reason enough to sleep in the morning. Naturally my phone starts ringing off the hook at 8am.

Here, I am required to show up with the original copies of both my divorce decree and my name change certificate to apply for the divorce license, so it's not like they have to go look up the records (although for my "home" county, which has the extra $10 fee, they also happened to be the ones who issued me the divorce certificate to begin with).
It is a colossal PITA. I told my XH when we first got married that if I'd known what a PITA it'd be to do the name change, I never would have started the process. And then I had to get the extra name change petition during the divorce signed off by a judge and produce that every time I wanted to change my own name back.
And now I'm not changing my name ever again, because F that noise. I don't care if people refer to me socially by M's last name, but I'm done with the changes. SaveSave

Total PITA. I'm with you. Never changing my name again. Ever.
Just got word from the vet that Buddy’s growths were trbmalignant form of cancer that is fast spreading and his timeline is not long. She said dogs usually survive one week to she’s seen up to 8 months, but average is 3 months. It has not spread to his liver yet, so I’m hoping we will be somewhere on the longer side of that timeline, but there’s no way to know.
It will be quick and pretty painless when it is time to let him go. I was trying to prepare for this, but really it fucking sucks and feels so unfair. He’s only 7 years old. I have only had him four years. Fuck you cancer.
