We are thinking of moving my girls around after Christmas so my 9 year old will have her own room and the 2 littler girls will share. Currently the youngest has her own room (was the nursery).
The shared room is big and has a huge closet, but it's laid out very weirdly for furniture with placement of windows and doors. I hate the way it is right now. We have 2 un-matching double beds in there and 2 dressers and it just never looks like it's right. We'd like to get rid of one dresser and will change one bed to a twin. Want to get something cheap for a dresser that we could put IN the closet for now rather than investing in more furniture for little kids.
By any weird chance does anyone have something that's functional but cheap for little kids that you could recommend? I'm thinking maybe even something with canvas or plastic drawers for a couple years, but not something that will have drawers falling out all the time. And not those square bin systems, b/c I can't see keeping clothes remotely organized in those. They would be spilled out all the time.
We got this for my sons room. Not sure how much space you have in the cliset but it is not super tall and sturdy but cheap enough I didn't mind spending money.
My husband has a rubber maid plastic 2 drawer thing in our closet for workout clothes and uderwear, etc. I hate it. Pain to open and close, top pops off and drawers are almost too big to keep organized.
Your post is timely. For the longest time dh and I had planned on putting our girls together, but now we are thinking baby and dd3 can share. I need furniture and a bed. I’m thinking ikea Kura bed and some similar dresser.
The "good" kids furniture set in the room I'm talking about is all white. The headboard is really nice but big, tall and solid..I might just switch it out for now to get two that match. I'm thinking about those Target ones but totally not sure what direction we'll go.
I had plastic drawers in both boys’ closests. I bought the “nicer ones” (like $30?) and have never had a problem with the drawers falling out. I hang a lot of clothes too.
