I know there is still some conversation in the Flynn thread but there is also more new stuff today. Such as, for example, our leader seeming to admit to obstruction of justice via tweet:
Now, I don't pretend to be a lawyer, but Matthew Miller isn't the only one saying so. See also
Susan Hennessey susan_Hennessey 4h "This is a pretty substantial confession to essential knowledge elements of an obstruction of justice charge."
Daniel Dale @ddale8 4h "Trump admitting to knowing Flynn had committed a crime at the time he pressured Comey is one of these instances where, if a secret email had revealed it, it'd be some huge story, but instead he just says it out loud unprompted."
iamlaila just posted this in the Flynn plea thread, but since this thread has since been started, I think we should discuss here:
On Dec. 29, a transition adviser to Mr. Trump, K. T. McFarland, wrote in an email to a colleague that sanctions announced hours before by the Obama administration in retaliation for Russian election meddling were aimed at discrediting Mr. Trump’s victory. The sanctions could also make it much harder for Mr. Trump to ease tensions with Russia, “which has just thrown the U.S.A. election to him,” she wrote in the emails obtained by The Times.
I think people are making too much out of Trump's tweet. Who knows if he knew Flynn lied to the FBI when he fired Flynn in February? He's the kind of person who just spews whatever comes to mind. Maybe he knew, maybe he didn't. It's a dumb ass tweet, but it's like his tweet about their being Comey tapes. We'll never actually find out if he knew or not.
Besides he literally commits impeachable acts every day. And he's committed obstruction like a thousand times over already.

It’s killing me not having access to Twitter today. I actually wish people were posting ALL the tweets, lol!
(Got new iPhone last night, haven’t been able to download any apps though because for some reason it takes 24hrs to recover your Apple ID account when you forget the password. So no twitter, no FB, no email! I’m so addicted!)

I don't use the Twitter app, just log in to their web site via mobile. Can you do that?
Every time I see these polls, all I can think is "his approval rating is pretty much always in the thirties." People that kind of weren't sure about him are increasingly starting to hate him, but I don't think many people that liked him have stopped.

No because I can’t remember my password there either and it wants to send it to my email, which I can’t access from my new phone. It didn’t seem like you could even browse twitter w/o logging in.
S’ok, I’ll have stuff to read with my after work wine tonight.

Yes, but approval in the low 30s vs high might be enough to lose an election.

Can you get your email on your browser?
Passwords are the bane of my existence. I know none of them. Everything was all automatic on my old phone and my laptop at home. Really didn’t mean to derail the thread. I can make it three more hours w/o twitter, lol!
ETA thankfully I know my password to this board, hahaha. Mainly because it logs me out all the damn time.

I want to fast forward to when the movie is done of all this and it has to be a comedy instead of a crime/suspense drama because everyone involved is too stupid to be believed.

I'm chuckling about your password priorities. At least you have us!

As we've seen already, the things we think they're getting away with, they're really not. It's just all going to take time. ALL his tweets will eventually come back and bite him in his diapered ass.

If you're not listening to the Slow Burn podcast by Slate, you should be. It's all about Watergate and a look at what and who most Americans have forgotten about that process.
I've only heard the first episode, but it's brilliant. They tie Watergate to current events nicely without straining to make connections. I highly recommend it.

Elton John blares so loudly on Donald Trump’s campaign plane that staffers can’t hear themselves think. Press secretary Hope Hicks uses a steamer to press Trump’s pants — while he is still wearing them. Trump screams at his top aides, who are subjected to expletive-filled tirades in which they get their “face ripped off.”
And Trump’s appetite seems to know no bounds when it comes to McDonald’s, with a dinner order consisting of “two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish, and a chocolate malted.”
The scenes are among the most surreal passages in a forthcoming book chronicling Trump’s path to the presidency co-written by Corey Lewandowski, who was fired as Trump’s campaign manager, and David Bossie, another top aide. The book, “Let Trump Be Trump,” paints a portrait of a campaign with an untested candidate and staff rocketing from crisis to crisis, in which Lewandowski and a cast of mostly neophyte political aides learn on the fly and ultimately accept Trump’s propensity to go angrily off message.

Pro boards doesn’t require capitals and numbers which means I can use my old standby password that’s been around since dial-up modem log in in ‘95! Weak passwords for the win!
WH folks are saying that one of the attorneys (Dowd) wrote that earlier Flynn-related tweet and it was “sloppy” but not a confession to obstruction of justice. LOL for days.
Brian Ross, the chief investigative correspondent for ABC News, has been suspended for four weeks without pay after incorrectly reporting that Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser, would testify that President Trump had directed him to make contact with Russian officials while Mr. Trump was still a candidate, the network announced on Saturday.
Mr. Trump had in fact directed him to make contact after the election, as president-elect, the network said. ABC initially issued a clarification after Mr. Ross made the statement during a broadcast on Friday, but on Saturday the network called it a “serious error.”
“We deeply regret and apologize for the serious error we made yesterday,” ABC said in a statement. “The reporting conveyed by Brian Ross during the special report had not been fully vetted through our editorial standards process.”
Experts at Harvard University, Stanford University, Yale University, Duke University and the University of Texas told the Star that Trump’s words would help special counsel Robert Mueller establish a case that Trump committed obstruction of justice.
The experts cited are named and from reputable US universities, at least.
Flynn isn't only valuable as a witness for his prior access to Trump, but also because he's a former intel officer with the knowledge necessary to have made expert observations about Moscow's interference, its gradual compromise of Team Trump, and any collaboration between them.
The thing about that KT email is that it was back in dec 2016 and I don’t think at that time it was full blown Russia stuff for her to say that. I really don’t remember any russia won the election for 45 stuff.
