Do you friend strangers on Goodreads?

Do you accept friend requests from strangers on Goodreads, or send friend requests to strangers on Goodreads?

Not like people on GBCN who you haven't met but still "know," but like actual strangers who send you a request out of the blue.

Random thought brought to you buy a friend request from someone on GR who wants to be my friend and is friends with 600+ other people.

I did, back when I first joined, because I was just like yay lets be friends!! but not anymore. I haven't added anyone new as a friend on goodreads in years I don't think, lol.

I don't remember the last time this happened. I also require people to tell me how they know me when the friend me, I think because it used to happen a lot.

Also, I don't know if people are willing, but I'd love to add some of you guys to my Goodreads if you're willing. Lots of great recs here!

No. There has to be some connection to me. I wish people would tell me how they know me in Friend requests on social media like Goodreads & Facebook. Some people get hung up on friend numbers, but I've always had a small circle of friends, I don't see the need to change online. In fact, I tend to block random people who try to friend me.

But I use Goodreads mainly as an online catalogue of all the books I own, not necessarily to get suggestions, so I don't really need friends there.

I don’t request people I don’t know, but I will sometimes follow strangers’ reviews if their tastes seem to be similar to mine. I don’t mind random requests on goodreads at all, though — what I read doesn’t really feel that personal or private to me.

I do only if we're book compatible - like if we share a good number of books and our ratings align at 70% or higher (there's a goodreads book comparison thing that does this for you). I'm always open to friending anyone on here though ( www.goodreads.com/UfCasey )

I love seeing what people are reading so I usually accept all the requests.

That being said, a few months ago I got a request from someone I didn't know and accepted it. I think the profile was just trying go get the most friends or something because it took over my feed with all the accepted friend requests for that profile. I can't remember if I blocked or just unfriended.

I do but I also have a blog and a lot of people I don’t know follow me on a lot of platforms. GoodReads is the least “intimate” so I don’t mind. I don’t pay attention much to the feeds though.

I'm willing, I just don't like to post my GR name directly on here since it's pretty public and I have my stuff locked down, so send me a PM with your user name we'll make it happen. 

That goes for anyone here as long as I recognize your user name as an active member of the boards (i.e., if you are some kind of a creeper who registers today, has 1 post, and then tries to friend me, that's not happening, sorry not sorry).  

Also, I didn't realize I could have a challenge questions, so I put that in.  Thanks!
