I am about sick of my silhouette's (cameo and curio). Vinyl I don't have too much trouble with, but paper gives me the blues. I can never get the settings right, and the default settings for silhouette don't work.
In the past, I wasn't pressed to get a cricut, because I didn't want to drs with cartridges. Now that you can use design space, I'm slightly more interested.

What version of a Cameo do you have? My 3 cuts cardstock, but I haven't done it much. I am really anti cricut because I don't want to be tied to the internet every time I want to cut. Plus I don't want to give Provo craft any money. But I'm enamored by the Maker. And perfectly happy with my Cameo 3.

I have a cameo two I believe. I also have a curio.
You've been having issues for awhile, right? That sucks that it hasn't been resolved. I have the original and the 3- I wanted to cut fun foam (for texture on my pottery/ceramics), and the 3 handles that a lot better than the original. If I were going to go with a non-Silhouette, I'd look at the non-Cricut products first. KNK? Pazzles? Black Cat? I'm not sure what's out there right now.
I will admit that Cricut's Maker is intriguing- I really would love to see a Silhouette with more cutting force. I do all my felt with metal dies, it would be awesome to have a electronic die cutter than can handle that. But, I will NEVER own another Cricut product (I admit that's my own personal grudge against them).

Good call on the non Cricut/Silhouette cutters.
I still cut all my felt by hand. And stick to Christmas ornaments. I’ve seen people using their machines for pleather weight and not quite marine vinyls that they are turning into earrings and I’m intrigued. But I’m already expanding my hobbies too quickly.

I went from a Cricut to a silhouette and I'll never go back. Also I'm on a ton of fb pages and it seems like Cricut is down a LOT. i would be pissed if i wanted to work and couldn't because they were down

Good memory! I have been having issues. I'm like, is it me? The paper? I'd only used the curio for etching and embossing, and thought I'd try paper. Nope, still cut poorly.
When I first started looking at machines, I really wanted the Pazzles. I can't justify one right now, but if I get more serious about s non-silhouette machine, I'll look into a Pazzles or other ones mentioned.

Quality control at Silhouette seems to have been an issue for the past couple of (ever) years. That's something that's really hard for me to tolerate and grates on my cheer-leading ability for their products! I have had pretty good luck with my machines, but, their software has been a mess at times.
I don't remember- have you tried a CB09 blade in yours? It's a pretty small investment and can definitely improve the machines' ability to do delicate cuts. I use them with my 3 on the foam, too- you can extend them farther than the regular/deep cut sil blades go (and choose different angles).

I am trying to decide between the 2 right now, as I have been researching the two machines, I thought that the Circuit now has an offline mode?

This says offline mode is only available in iOS. I'm thrilled with my Cameo 3, but I wish Silhouette would make something like the Maker.
