When I was little, we just used regular plates. I've been using the divided section kids' plates for my kids bc 1) they are cute; most we got as gifts, and 2)it's convenient for ME to portion out four meals that way. What do you do? I'm starting to wonder if I need to transition to regular plates so that my kids will not always expect their food separated, but I like the divided ones.
I have always used both. Just depends on food. Foods with dips like hotdogs, fries, french toast sticks i use divided because I never liked my dip seeping into my food. Lol
I also have pasta bowls for things like like spaghetti, or salad but also use real plates for traditional portioned meals, sandwiches and chips, pancakes, etc.

We use both both. Mostly my little one eats straight off the highchair tray. My 5yo will request certain plates (cups, forks, napkins, toothpicks..,) sometimes but is usually content with whatever we hand her. I love how not one damn kids plate we own fits into any other so it’s a jumbled crooked pile no matter what.
cabbagecabbage, I KNOW!!! Same issue with the plates. Also, I really like the FOUR section ones, which seem strangely hard to find. I would think most people would want more sections.

I stopped using them I think about 2 years ago? My kids insisted on keeping a few, but I definitely haven't pulled them out to use in over a year. I don't think there's anything wrong with using them...probably actually helps with healthy portion sizes, but I would be afraid it would contribute to 'foods are not allowed to touch other foods' pickiness if you have any concern of that (my daughter won't let me put her apple slices on the same plate as a sandwich because they get crumbs on them, she puts them on a napkin instead because I refuse to dirty a 2nd plate every single day).
We usually still use them for dinner when they don't want their food groups touching and there are more food groups! I have some from Target that are all the same size and they stack nicely
We never used them. I also always used real ceramic plates, bowls, and glass cups for the kids. We eat a lot of Korean food so much of it is a one pot thing where all the meat and vegetables are mixed together anyway so no use for a divided plate. And soups with rice mixed in is served at least once a day so we use ceramic bowls because I have a thing about hot food on a plastic plate or bowl. Miraculously, we’ve had barely a handful of breaks even with our stone floor kitchen and hardwood floor dining room.
We never used them. When she was a baby food went right on the high chair and then we went straight to regular plates. She's never minded her food touching. She minds plenty of other stuff but not that.

I have the same as court26 from target and they match and stack. I use them for outside meals and lunches only. Breakfast and dinner are served on regular plates.
