Remember how my job was getting merged with the job of a co-worker who left in July? And remember how I had to fill out an application and apply for the job?
Well I got the job on Friday. They decided not to post the job externally and just gave it to me. The whole process was such bull shit and I still think it is NOT in the company's best interest to merge the jobs. But, there isn't anything I can do now.
While I do appreciate the confidence they have in me to take on the job their salary offer was insulting. I called them on it right away and asked for more. I am supposed to get an answer with the official offer letter today.
Even if they don't offer more $, any increase right now will definitely help me and so for that I am thankful.
Well, while I still haven't seen the paperwork, a woman in the business office confirmed that the number is a bit higher than they originally offered. It's still a low offer but I'm going to take it an let everyone move on from this mess.
