Week before Xmas randoms

I let them decorate “gingerbread” houses yesterday. I built them with graham crackers and hot glue. They decorate then eat all the candy. It was fun.

I still need to grab a few things. But I think everyone is getting some good stuff. Dh always goes out last minute and buys a bunch of garbage filler because he thinks there isn’t enough..., 😣 I really want a roomba but he doesn’t want to spend the money on it, but he blows through money like it is nothing.

My favorite boots zipper just broke I wear them everyday and don’t have a back up pair to wear. Ugh I wish our Nordstrom Rack was a bit closer than 30 minutes, because I need a new pair stat!

My husband wants another corgi in a couple years (okay really I want a dog and it’s the only kind he wants lol), and I told him we could get one if I also get a roomba lol. I want a low shed dog but he is stuck on a corgi (our old dog was a corgi and he loved her so much).

I have an iLife brand roomba and it's great. We don't have pets but it fills up so much each time- it's kind of gross to know that much is out there.

This week has been crazy so far, and it’s only Monday?!
So May of 2016 our old ‘97 van quit on us. We had it parked on a vacant side street in our neighborhood until August 2016 when hoa asked us to move it. A fellow neighbor said he’d buy the van from us for $300. He gave us $40 and rolled it up to his house, but I held on to the title. He said he would get the money as soon as he could. Well shortly after he lost his job. Fast forward to last night he calls and says he finally has the money. So BAM a nice $300 pocketed right before he holidays. What a nice surprise right?
Wrong! The universe caught wind of our run in with some surprise cash so our hot water went out. It was 8pm when Wes needed to shower after I cut his hair that we discover the lack of hot water. He needed to get the excess hair off, so he had no choice but to take a cold one! Checked numerous times before going to bed last night with no luck.
Woke up this morning and tested the water, and surprisingly it was hot! Hooray right?
Wrong again! We still had a gut feeling we should at least go take a peek at the water heater up in the attic just in case. Well, we get up there and water is leaking from an electrical panel?!?
Turned off the breaker, called the manufacturer to discuss our warranty coverage, and they are overnighting us the parts for free, but don’t cover labor. So now I’m scrambling trying to find a plumbing service that can get out here ASAP.

I just bought myself a roomba! My H didn’t want one either but my dad gave me Xmas money so I bought one. It’s arriving today and I can’t wait!

I'd totally buy something like that if I got gift money!  You'll have to let me know how you like it, I've heard they are great but just seem too good to be true lol

lauranicole91, I'm sorry, I hope it's a cheap labor fix! That's crap a warranty only covers parts, labor is usually the most expensive part for fixes!

Just ordered 4 pair of SKR water sandals on amazon. They have a bunch for $12-15 and we need some for Mexico. They also hold up so well, A had a pair last 2 summers of hard wear.

Loco Coco - I am jealous! No pets, but I'm always completely disgusted by the amount of dirt my shark picks up.

I feel like the holiday season is just zooming by without being able to fully enjoy it. Our accreditation survey showed up last week (they're unannounced) which meant I basically only came home to sleep, my mom ended up in the ED with a PE, and G has been fighting a weird virus. He's a little stuffy, but will spike random fevers ever since Friday. I'm sure the school nurse thought I'd sent him too soon, but it had been 24 hours!! He's now out again until Thursday.

I'm excited for all the teacher presents I'll get tomorrow, haha. Make this week with a classroom of insane children more worth it.

2 days, 2 cherry pound cakes, 2 banana ripple cakes, 2 batches of caramels, 120 chocolate chip cookies. 60 peppermint mochas cookies, 60 soft ginger cookies, 4 dozen meringues, 120 snowballs and 2 batches of marshmallow squares.

25 boxes packed up and ready for H’s work tomorrow.




I know a ton of you refuse to touch homemade stuff but apparently these people don’t care as it’s requested I make them stuff all the time and my reputation for these damn boxes followed me here. I started this before kids, I regret this.

It’s my birthday! My mom offered to watch H this morning while I go to Nordstrom Rack to look for new boots woot.

My professor must have majorly curved the class I just took. I had a C before curve and grades were just posted and he gave me an A lol. He never said he was going to curve it so I was a bit worried.

I found out yesterday the thing for teachers here is presents and not gift cards. Pretty sure we were the only gift card. So that either means she thinks I’m extra awesome or lazy lol

I work in a school and I love gift cards! I’m sure she appreciated it.
