Not a good week to be solo parenting. On top of being injured, I got horribly sick hours before MH left town. I had/have appointments every day this week (well, between me and the kid which I of course am taking him to), plus I am not remotely ready for Christmas, so self care has not been getting much attention, nor will it any time soon. I have been trying to relax in the tub now and then though, and I hope to continue to do so some more this week. Looking forward to Christmas. LO and I plan to bake cookies later this week, so I do have that to look forward to as well.
We are doing the visiting grandparents back east circuit this week. So all routine is pretty much out the window. I was hoping to "forget" DS's Kindle at home, but he remembered it at the last minute. This week we are with my parents, and it's a struggle to get DS to engage with them ... they are just not that interesting to his 5yo brain. I wish they got along better, because then I would have time to get some of my own work done. I lugged my laptop along hoping I could get some of my career counseling homework done, but so far it's been hard to get good chunks of time alone to work. I'm not surprised, it's always this way with my parents.
