I feel like Santa is kind of phoning it in this year. He is giving DD an Echo Dot and DS a Wii NFL game. I picked up some Ukuleles at Five Below that he will throw in as well. My son has changed his Santa list about 75 times and the last thing he asked for was everything that is NFL and jerseys from each NFL team except the NY Giants. He is 6. DD is 8 and asked for a phone which is not going to happen for some years.
I scored big time. About 2 years ago someone was selling retired AG doll Elizabeth Cole with all her outfits for $40. I picked her up and she's been sitting on our attic. My oldest is very into AG and also history and esp the revolutionary war. She has become very interested in Elizabeth Cole and said the only person that would be able to get it for her was Santa bc she was retired!!!!!! She's going to believe forever! I am SO excited to see her face! dd#2 wanted AG Julie's groovy bathroom. Reviews are not great and it's $200. The Seaside Diner was on sale for black friday and I went ahead and purchased it. I showed her a you tube video and she changed her mind to the diner. Both my girls will be very excited Christmas morning!

Big gifts have always come Santa kitchens, dragons, etc. but this year I'd like to go in a different direction. Their still little enough where I think I can change it so it'll be fingerlings from Santa and the stocking. I had read an article about how Santa shouldn't give the big gifts and so forth. It struck a chord with me, NO I'M NOT telling anyone what the hell to do and NO I don't think it makes a big difference, and I'd like to stick with the smaller gifts being from Santa.
I have two boys - 3 and 11. The 11 year old wants a trick scooter and the three year old wants a “not baby” scooter. The older one also wanted a book on environmental science and the younger one wanted a play trash truck that trash cans can dump into. So ... that’s what they are getting.
Ds1 (10) - a lego set and Star Wars battlefront 2 for his xbox
Ds2(5) - a lego set and the quadrilla glow in the dark marble run
They each write a letter to Santa with 4-5 things on it and I pick 1-2 off of that. I just ordered DS2’s from Amazon a few days ago though, abc they haven’t arrived yet.....
My oldest is getting into photography and movies, so he’s getting a digital camera and accessories. My middle asked santa to surprise her, so she’s getting a Chromebook. My youngest has changed her mind a million times, but always includes a Nintendo 3DS on her list, so she’s getting that and a few games to go with it.
Alps79, I'm really excited for your kid who wants the AG doll! lol
DS1 asked for a car carrier, so that's what he's getting. I'm more excited about his gift from us, which is an IKEA kitchen set. But I think he'll be stoked to get the car carrier. I got some random stuff for DS2 from Santa, but only because I thought DS1 might think it was weird if he got stuff from Santa and DS2 didn't.
While the girls are this little, everything comes from Santa. We're basically doing what our parents did, which is to have everything come from Santa and eventually start doing half-Santa, half-us until we no longer have believers in the house (lol) and switch to all us.
Anyway, this year we got L (4): a Minnie Mouse bike and a Trolls helmet to go with it, dress up clothes, a singing Moana doll, a Spirit: Riding Free barn playset, and just a ton of crap I can't even remember right now. We got M (8 months): a clear drum with other little instruments inside, a push walker, a ride-on monster thing, a soft octopus that plays different music when you push each tentacle, a taggie blanket because she's obsessed with tags, and more I also can't remember right now.
Every year we say we're going to scale back, and every year we go completely overboard.

We only do one Santa gift. We used to do 3 but it was just ridiculous the number of gifts so we changed it to 1 from Santa and 2 from us (and whatever else they get from everyone else). This was done before DD was born so for her it has always been like that (and the other kids didn't believe anymore once we changed it but we still wanted to do the Santa gift even though they didn't believe anymore) Anyway DD wanted a karaoke microphone so that's what Santa is getting her. From us she is getting a board game and comic books that she is really into.
A little stuffed Elmo. My kid is 6 months old so I got him that, a book, and a music table thing. I spent ~$30. Yay first Christmas.
Also a trip to Disney?! Everything coming from Santa? I'm selfish. My kid will get Santa gifts in the future, but I want the awesome stuff to come from me. SORRY, BEARDO.

My friend got her kid a trick scooter. What is that exactly?
Santa is bringing both DDs LEGO sets, a decoupage activity, some beanie boos, and heelys for DD2 and calico critters for DD1. I got them clothes. Santa brings all the fun stuff.

From what I can gather from the kid's description (he knows I am Santa, so I let him help so I didn't get the wrong thing), it is essentially an upgrade from the folding Razor scooters they all have in elementary school. It has wider handle bars that make certain tricks easier and they don't fold which makes them safer when you do jumps and such. I think the wheels are also an upgrade in that they have a different kind of bearings.
A bike (it’s used), an art easel that we got on sale for $15, and a giraffe rocking horse that he’s been talking about since he saw one in the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade.
knx9211, normally we like to 'take credit' for the big gifts (not Santa), but we fucked it all up this year. We started ordering some kids stuff on Amazon only to realize that my son's fire tablet is linked to the account and he could look up all the stuff that we ordered...So to not ruin Santa yet we had to get a little creative.
We've been saving for this trip for like 5 years and Santa gets to be the hero. Dammit!
