I'm exhausted! 3 days of Christmas was fun but so much, lol. Poor E was so tired last night he just cried from the time we got out of the car until we went into his room, then didn't fight laying down at all. I think he was out before I even left the room, lol. This morning he was a screaming mess. Poor daycare teachers, I can't imagine what they deal with today! H got him out of the car at daycare and apparently he gave H a big hug and said "sorry daddy, I'm just tired."
I'm off work this week so my one and only goal is to finish painting my closet and clean out the guest room. It never recovered from the renovation. Like there's a set of margarita glasses and a window screen kicking around in the middle of the guest bed because...?
We're vegging at home today. H had to go to work today. The end of the year is pretty busy for him.
DS1 had a ton of fun the last two days. He got a lot of stuff, but I don't think it was too much. The amount of presents at my parents' house was crazy, but there's 15 people that get gifts so it doesn't take long to add up.
DS1 turns 3 tomorrow! I can't believe how fast time has flown and how big he is alteady.
We are home from 5 days at the parents and while the visit was great, we are exhausted. I had a huge to-do list for the week but I'm not sure if I have the energy to work on it.
When we got home there was a light on we were certain we turned off. Nothing seems amiss or missing except.... the wet wipes container. LOL. I'm sure we somehow just misplaced it in the rush of leaving, but at the moment it feels like someone is playing an absurd joke on us and only stole wet wipes.
ewall is your son home while you do those projects? I never manage to get those types of things done with kids in the house or awake.

tacocat- happy birthday to your DS1! Did he also get birthday presents this weekend? We celebrated C’s bday Sat and between that and Christmas it’s been a bit much (and we still have DH’s parents and some extended family to open...we will see the ILs whenever they can leave Grandma and I am waiting on the other gifts for a few days).
amaranth- that is a little strange. Hopefully it’s nothing.
We had a crazy busy week between C’s bday and a Christmas. C was nearly over Christmas before it even started but still managed to enjoy most of it. All of us are exhausted.
DH goes back to work tomorrow and I am ready to be back to normal for a few days. No big plans yet but need to catch up on grocery shopping and chores, and actually cook.
We are going to try to exchange DHs Christmas gift (Fitbit) and go to happy hour once the boys wake up.
I had my annual physical today and A her 9 month appointment. My arm is sore from the flu shot. Need to go get fasting bloodwork at some point this week.
Tomorrow H is back at work, and A and I are hosting a play date. So far four of her baby friends (and my momma friends) are planning on coming. Waiting to hear from a few more.
luv2rn4fun We haven't done birthday stuff yet. We're having a little family party next Saturday the 6th. My family still goes to OH to see extended family right after Christmas, so we've tried to do something the first weekend on January. It gives everyone a chance to go to OH and gives us a little space from the holiday.
I am potty training tomorrow and I really don't want to. What I want to do is ship him off to Grandma's for three days to potty train while I purge and organize (and, let's be honest, relax and binge some shows on Netflix). Sadly, that is not an option!
tacocat- I think we are going to start doing his birthday the week before Christmas next year, basically so things in reverse from this year. Glad you guys will have a little break before the bday celebrations!! Happy birthday C!!!
krystee- prayers potty training goes well!! Any way you can just keep putting it off a little while longer and let daycare do most of the work? Or if it doesn’t stick after these 3 days really well then maybe go that route? Potty training was a long process for us and not one I would want to do 34 weeks pregnant with a difficult pregnancy. You are in a hard situation though where he just might train well and then only one in diapers vs putting it off and having to deal with potty training and a newborn/young infant.
Eh...I made a FAST improvement. So did L. I've been oiling us like crazy. But H decided to contract Hand/Foot/Mouth for real this time. So, there's that. I wasn't going to say anything since I'm sure everyone is sick of me

But I hope everyone else has a nice, healthy week
I am so so sorry friend 🙁. I hope H feels better and you guys can all be healthy soon. Not sick of you...I think we have all been there and totally understand how much it sucks when either you or your kiddos aren’t healthy. ((Hugs)) and prayers mama.

DH’s Grandma has been in the hospital almost a week now. She is now leaking blood internally and they are currently doing a lifesaving procedure. Nurse said she isn’t very hopeful. Trying to get DH to leave work and decide if he or all of us are making the 5-6 hour drive. I think we will all be going to I need to get us packed and ready to go. I just hope we can make it in time.

I'm so sorry.....prayers for you all! This is so tough ((

Thanks. We are waiting 30 min to see how the procedure goes. MIL says she is sedated so there’s nothing we can do but be there for them, which I think is also very important. DH doesn’t know if he can take the time off though...year end is next week and he was just off the last 4 working days.
The guest bed is clear! I had to wash our travel car seat which was in the pile of debris. Random, there are these loops of rope that were hanging from the steel beam in our basement utility. Probably used for some workshop project at one point, still super creepy, but in the 6+ years we've lived here, I've never bothered to cut them down. Well, finally putting them to good use today to let the car seat cushion drip dry. If I put it outside, it would freeze solid today.
And there have been more random people drive down our dead end street in the past 10 minutes than we see all year. One lady even got out of her car and walked up to the house. I'm wondering if there's some sort of sale somewhere and people are confusing the address.

I’m currently meal planning for the next 2 weeks, plus stuff for making extra freezer meals.
It’s been a busy day today at work and I’m over it.
H slipped and fell yesterday on a patch of ice and hurt his back. He’s trying to take it easy but if it’s not getting any better by tomorrow his butt is going to urgent care. Hopefully some of the jobs he applied to will start calling and maybe get an offer. We need to move to a warmer climate.
Thanks y'all. I'm in tears, hiding in the bathroom so DD doesn't see my crying. DH is throwing up and Mom has to stay back and tack my Dad to the doc for a procedure....that he needs! We're scrounging to find someone to watch the babies. I've texted my boss a deal to come in and work New Year's Day so she'll let me take a sick day to watch them. I have the time. That's not the issue....she wants me there for HR coverage. I'm pretty sure my coworker will be there anyway. She's just ridiculous when I have to be off for the kids. I don't know what I'm going to do. I get plenty of PTO and I've only had to use 1.5 days of it (that's including tomorrow!!!) so far for the kids since I've been back from my Oct. 9th return date.
Update: she'll let be off tomorrow.....but told me to really TRY to be there on Friday. This is after I told her we already had Friday covered. She is just being a witch. I just st don't get it!!! She even taped awards I received (over Christmas break) to my computer for me to see when I came in today. I just don't get why she has to be so nasty when I have to be out for my kids.
