I voted every month. I participated in most of the months last year and would do so again this year.
I was thinking about how it's nice that a lot of people read the same book at around the same time.
But I was also thinking that we should maybe start making discussion posts about a book that quite a few people happen to be reading in the Friday threads. One that comes to mind is Artemis. It seems like I saw about 5-6 people list this book in the past few weeks. Just a thought.
I enjoy reading the books. I just wish the library would cooperate with me. It seems like I'm always late or read it months early and then forget parts of the book. 🤔
I enjoy the book club each month, but I haven't been able to time my reading the book with the discussion very well and often don't remember the details or am late.
My level of participation will be the same going forward as it has been this year, which is to say I'll probably try to read the books when they are something I wanted to read anyway, and I can get them from the library on time.
I'm part of two book clubs in real life, so adding a 3rd is hard if I also want to read other things that I choose for myself.

I voted yes! And I know for me, to the extent I participated this year, I didn't always do so in a timely fashion - like I know I commented on A Gentleman in Moscow a week or two after the date of the discussion, which doesn't bother me if others do that so I hope no one else cares lol. I also like going back to old discussions - I read Homegoing a few weeks ago so I went back and re-read the discussion for that.
and I think if in any given month it turns out that no one is reading the book, maybe just cancel or reschedule that discussion.

It seems like we have enough interest, so I'm going to start making some polls to choose books from various genres. I'll try to find some readily accessible books for January since we have less time for wait lists this month.
