H and I are both off this week. We were hoping to take a trip for a few days, but ended up cancelling our hotel reservations because the kitchen remodel is taking so much longer than we expected. It sucks, but we're hoping to get out of the house later in the week.

We slept in this morning and then went out to breakfast. Now H and FIL are working on the kitchen and I'm getting ready to make another trip to Lowe's to see if I can figure out what I want to do as a window treatment.

Tomorrow and Wednesday will be more of the same, I'm sure. Hopefully, painting tomorrow and installing cabinets on Wednesday.

Thursday is our 10 year dating anniversary, which is nice.
As long as we can get everything in the kitchen done by Wednesday, we'll go out on a date on Thursday. Maybe a movie and some bowling or something.

Friday - Countertop template is scheduled to be done, which is why we're on a deadline to get the cabinets installed this week. If that happens in the AM, we'll go somewhere later in the day. Unsure where, since it will depend on how much time we have.

Saturday - Taking a day trip somewhere, either to the coast or to PDX.

Slowly! lol. But we're getting there. We seem to be on track to be far enough along for the countertop template to happen on Friday. But we've run into so many issues that have taken up so much time, we're just crossing our fingers that things go moderately smoothly from now on.

Same ole/same ole here. Had a nice party for DD over the weekend. My Mom acted out a good bit though....so, dealing with the aftermath of that.

My Dad has testing today for several different things. That stresses me a good bit. Praying he has some good results.

Fought with DH yesterday. Stinks. Still weird today. Hoping that clears up soon.

MrsMB - I hate that feeling... When you aren’t actively fighting anymore but things are still weird and you haven’t totally made up yet. Ugh. I hope you and your H are able to clear things up soon!

I’m looking forward to Friday. A relaxing morning to myself running my errands then Friday afternoon my friend is coming over to do my hair.

Does anyone else ever plan vacations you know you can't take? I just priced out a cruise for the fall. I know we can't afford it, but it's so fun to dream. Sigh.

Sorry MrsMB DH and I fought this weekend too.

Normal stuff for most the week. Just got MIL set to babysit Friday so I can get my tire fixed and get my hair cut. My tire is acting like it has a slow leak but I've taken it in twice and they can't find it. I hope they can figure it out - said to bring it back if it happened again and was planning to try something new. It's annoying to go up for a 3rd time but I don't really mind. I plan to get a coffee and take my kindle. Makes for a nice waiting experience.

I want to rearrange the basement to be more functional (unfinished so I'm making walls out of boxes) and move stuff around in the kitchen since DH brought the pantry upstairs for me.
I have physio tomorrow and I'm going to talk to her about taking a break. I feel more confident in my ability to do exercises at home.
Other than that, back to the same old routine.

krystee I like to torture myself by looking at the Groupon Getaways email I somehow signed up for, lol. The 2 week European tours, a week in places like Fiji.. I wish so much we could do those things! The prices really aren't bad but there's no way we'd be able to actually do them even if we saved up. Maybe a shorter trip.. someday! It doesn't help that my parents and sister are in Hawaii right now. I'm jealous especially after the weather we've had! At least it's like 30 degrees here today!

Not much going on this week, just a couple appointments. Speaking of vacations, I'm starting to plan a couple for us this year. We are thinking of doing a long weekend in Wisconsin Dells for our anniversary and a road trip this summer or early fall. I'm thinking of going out to Niagara Falls. Anything we need to do in those places?

Also I'm super annoyed with my phone. Ever since one of the updates, swyping is just horrible. I have to correct half my words because the stupid thing thinks I'm saying things I'd never say. Here, I won't correct this: just trading how horrible my typing is right now. I used to bee a lot faster at texting and posting huuuge now apparently it gates me. Also punctuation is a huge pain, it will do aa instead of ! for example. Why is it doing this??? That test was nothing compared to usual. Like earlier when I typed because it thought I was saying Baghdad's. Wtf?

I've been in line at Victoria Secret for 40 mins. I desperately need underwear so I didn't want to leave and try again another day. But damn, this is absurd!

We're hoping to get our painter out this week to give us a quote and timeline for the kitchen. It will finish up what we want to get done downstairs.

I'm going to see my friend on Thursday. She moved about a month ago and I'm excited to see her new house.

MrsMB, bk1 - This weekend, H and I had our first real argument over a kitchen decision. It took a good portion of the day to figure out a compromise that we could both agree to, and my poor FIL got caught in the middle when he showed up to help and H tried to get him to agree with him. H seemed to think the two of them would be able to out-vote me and that would somehow change my opinion or something.

krystee, estrellita - I am forever planning vacations I will never take. Groupon Getaways I’d like my guilty pleasure. I totally price out ridiculous things that will never happen - Hawaii, Las Vegas, New England, Ireland, and all sorts of tropical locations. All I want right now is a fancy vacation where all I do is to sit by a pool in the sunshine.

I totally believe it. DH and I are horrible at doing house projects together...I would love to do these kinds of things but after all we did in our old house and how much we fought while doing them I have not been motivated to do anything here. We will eventually do a full kitchen remodel and likely some smaller projects....just the thought of navigating all the decisions and our differing opinions makes me nauseous. I so wish DH was one of those guys that didn’t really care all that much but he’s very much the complete opposite LOL (and very detail oriented, which is mostly a good thing but sometimes not so much when we try to do things together).

H tends to be one of those guys who doesn’t really care that much. His opinion is usually, “Whatever is going to make you happiest.” The problem with that is that when he does have an opinion, he feels very strongly about it and sometimes that takes me by surprise. lol.

DH picked the overall design theme with "I don't want stained cabinets. We have enough wood in this house." And then I did the rest.

I've got a boring old work week. I'm sending my resume in for a job so I need to give it a quick review and edit. I did get a chance to volunteer yesterday so that was fun. With the holidays, I missed a couple weeks.

I reeeeeeally need to sort through and organize my closets. I bought shoe and purse organizers with the intention of decluttering, and I keep finding reasons to avoid actually doing it.

katespade, the line was super long I guess because of the sale? I thought so close to closing time it would have slowed down. Oh well, got my underwear.

My husband and I are the same way. He usually lets me choose but when he suddenly cares I barely know how to handle it. lol.

The cops just came to ask us questions about our neighbors. They're doing a well check because of unusual/suspicious stuff at their house and no one can get ahold of them. It totally is freaking me out because I saw a creepy, old car running in their driveway at 12:30am the other night and even woke my husband up to tell him how bizarre it was. Of course the police aren't going to update me and now I'm curious if they got ahold of them and if they're okay. I don't have their phone number.
