The airline ripped the zipper off of my suitcase this weekend. I decided it was a good excuse to get a new one, even though I could just use the remaining zipper, because my luggage set is 10 years old. I'm laughing because my new suitcase cost more than the new TV DH bought this weekend. But it supposedly has a lifetime warranty where they will repair any damage, including that caused by airlines, so I'm hoping it's worth it! DH found an article that a local travel agency is collecting luggage for the women's shelter so DV victims have someplace to keep their belongings, so I need to call to find out if they want luggage that has only one working zipper.
Good news/bad news - nothing is medically wrong with the corgi. He's just a jerk who started peeing in the house when his highness felt it was too cold to venture outdoors. He has been reintroduced to his old friend, the crate, when we can't keep an eye on him.
We're having a crazy weather week - it's nearly 60 today and tomorrow, and then Saturday it'll be back in the teens with an ice storm. Lovely.
I am still consoling myself about the cold by buying a gazillion things for our cruise that's still a month away. Even new luggage, which like udscoobychick , I don't really NEED, it just looks neat.
Our weather is crazy too, it's supposed to drop from the 60s/70s back down to the 30/40s this weekend. I only hope I can wash off my car before the cool down starts because it looks terribly dirty still from our trip up north. It's just been too damn cold to be out there with a hose.
We're waiting to hear from the vet about L, who can't use one of his legs or support himself anymore. He is looking rough and strung out on a lot of drugs. It is breaking my heart to see him like this even though he's mentally there, just not physically. This is a tough call to make about quality of life when he is still himself, but being on so many drugs and being stuck in a room all day with limited trips outside just doesn't seem like a good life to me. It's ultimately A's decision, but this sucks terribly. There is no particular situation like Buddy to make the call that it's right.
Our pups were/are only 5 and 7? It just seems really sucky and unfair.
chalupa, I am glad nothing is wrong with the pup but sorry to hear he is being a stubborn bugger.
doglove, I am sorry to hear about L. and my car was horrible covered with dirt and salt. It has been below zero for so long that a car wash was out of the question. well we finally warmed up into the 30s so I could wash it yesterday only for it to snow again and turn cold. I mean it is not like I did not know the snow and cold was not coming, it just sucks that my car stayed clean for about 18 hours.
I am happy to report that my search for a new shrink actually turned out great. I was able to get an initial appointment set up for next week with a follow up in 30 days. My mouth literally hit the floor because I was expecting to not be able to get in until at least March. Now lets just hope I like her and we mesh well.

I think there's a leak in one of my tires. DH has promised to take a look at it tomorrow. I hope it can be patched, since I don't really want to be buying new tires right now.

I have a brand new car and my low tire light came on for two tires last week. I about had a heart attack.
Come to find out it has been so damn cold up here that that is what is causing everyones tires to deflate.

Hopefully yours is a fluke too.
Thanks, I hope so! How fast did your tires go down? DH inflated mine on Tuesday night, and driving in to work today, I got the low pressure light again....
I'm here, still feeling like I'm fighting something. I got a speeding ticket on my way home last night. Which surprised me, since the accident I typically drive much slower than I used to. I was tired and not feeling well and think I was probably just trying to get home. I did get asked where I was coming from and if I'd been drinking. I had to explain craft night, that I was at a friend's house crocheting. Dance starts tonight but I'm going to be going home and sleeping instead, so I'll start next week.
chalupa of course he's just a royal PITA. He's lucky he's really cute.
doglove I'm so sorry to hear about London. Would a wheelchair help or is it past that point? We had to put one of our dogs down due to hip dysplasia, which I know is a different cause. It does feel like there are no good answers and this has been a really, horribly unfair time for you both. Sending you love!
Oh doglove I’m so sorry. And right after Buddy too. 😢
I came in with some news that may perk your spirits. My parents and my brother are finally doing it. They’re going to NC. Don’t know when since my brother will have to wait on a transfer to come through, but he’s prepping his house to put it on the market. My parents will follow, but they’re still unsure if they want to sell/buy yet.
I know we’ve been through this song and dance before, so keep expectations tempered, lol.

We're still waiting to hear from the vet, so I don't know. I'm sure he's open to that if we could get him to a place where he is not in pain, but today he just looks rough and exhausted. I took him out at lunch with a towel and he basically was like, nope let's go back in. That's not like his normal spirit of just going even when he's down. A ordered a sling to help him that should arrive today. He hasn't been able to go to the bathroom (number 2) since yesterday morning, I think really that is going to be what decides his fate unfortunately.
From what I have read on the internet and with my own experience with Sheba, I think probably steroids/steroid injections may be a different step we could try that may/may not work for the short-term.
