Hi! I already have one baby, and DH and I are pondering the idea of a second, perhaps starting TTC in Spring 2013. Anywho, I had a c-section for baby #1, and it was pretty traumatic (it was an emergency, she almost died, etc). Anyway, DH is pretty set on the fact that he thinks VBACs are dangerous and that I should have a c-section again "to be safe". Well, I've done the research, and based on all that I've read, I know VBAC (without labor augmentation) is the safest for mom and baby (unless there is a true emergency). He's also got anecdotal things in the back of his mind that are holding him up. I know the first birth experience really shook him up and scared him, but I really want our next baby to be born vaginally if it's possible.
Anyone have any advice/stories that will help me convince DH that he should support me wanting a VBAC? I've already invited him to my next gyno appointment so he can discuss his fears with my VBAC supportive OB.

I don't have any personal stories, but I worked as an L&D nurse for a while and we had several VBAC mamas. All of them were able to have a safe and successful birth. Generally, if your OB says you are a good candidate you have a good chance. For sure bring your hubby's along to talk with your OB. Many men take things more seriously if they hear it from an authority figure.
