Anyone get to enjoy a day off today? How was your weekend?
I'm working, but at least it's a quiet day. And I'm going out for pizza with CWs in a few minutes.
DH managed to fix my leaky car tire! The valve stem had apparently loosened up a bit, so he just had to tighten it back down. Phew! As a thank you, I de-Christmased the house. :-P
It was a good weekend, though...we went to the annual glider club membership meeting. I came along because I think I'm going to try taking a few lessons to see how it goes. I had to laugh a bit, though...they were talking about outreach and having trouble with it, but looking around the room, the club is 90% men over the age of 50. Yeah, that's going to make outreach tricky if you're looking for a diverse membership. There were 3 women, including me, out of about 60 people there, and maybe 6 people total who were not at least middle-aged.... Oh well, maybe I can help change that a little. DH and I went wine tasting afterwards, which was fun, since they were all new-to-us vineyards! Sunday, I danced for 5 hours, and I am feeling it today!
I'm off today and have a purring cat holding me in place right now.
My weekend was good. Friday I got a mani-pedi, then hung out at one of my favorite bar/restaurant near the nail salon and saw friends.
Saturday I went to a hip hop cardio class and got my ass kicked, but it was good. In the evening I went to see the guy I've been dating and stayed over. He brought me back a bunch of things from Brazil as a gift and I feel badly that I didn't bring him anything from NJ/NYC. We had a nice time together and yesterday I met some of his coworkers. Of course I felt awkward because I wasn't wearing much makeup, but oh well. We are getting more comfortable around each other and I'm relaxing a bit more, so that's good.
Today I'm going to do some chores and errands and just relax and enjoy a day off.
It was! I was bright red after the class, but that just means I got a great workout. At least that's what I tell myself. My friend invited me the evening before and I'm glad I went!
I’m going to go to the mall later to check out a bracelet I’ve been eying. I could easily order it online but I want to see it and try it on. After that I’m going to get a workout in and then maybe answer some work emails to get caught up before the week officially starts tomorrow.
Oh, things "my" guy brought me from Brazil (because he wanted to make sure it was special): the coffee he says is #1 in Brazil, another coffee, some chocolate wafer squares to have with them (like ones I've seen in Italian shops), and 2 bar soap from The Body Shop because he didn't know if they're here. He really tried!
I am still on cloud 9 from the amazing Vikings win last night.
Now my nerves can reset for next weekend.
I can only like this for today. Next week, we're adversaries. But for now: Congratulations!!
Ha, yes, I was thinking that I almost want the Vikings to get through to the SB because there has never been a case where a team was playing at home, so that would be cool, but I don't want to have to play them in Minnesota! (Go Pats!)
Oh hey. This weekend flew by, even with the extra day. Saturday was a snow day - we got a good 6 or 7" of snow on top of all the freezing rain, so it was a mess. Even with the snowblower, it took about an hour to clear the driveway and a path down the deck steps to the yard for the pups. We un-Christmas'd the house, ordered pizza, and had ourselves a Harry Potter marathon.
Sunday I slept until noon (OMG, when do I ever do that? Sunday, it seems), did my laundry, went to the barn to ride in the frigid cold, and then M and I went out for dinner. We had a moment of panic when we got to the restaurant - it's where we had our first date, and the door was covered over. Turns out they bought the storefront next to them and are serving food out of that space while they remodel/combine. M was going on about how could they close, and I'm all - uhhh, sign says to go next door. LOL. Anyhow, we ate and then finally saw I, Tonya.
Today I forced myself to sit down and start writing our wedding thank you notes, and then M saw me writing and finished at least half. I went to the barn and completely wiped out walking across an icy patch - like legs in all directions, ass hitting the ground wiped out. I have a lovely bruise forming, and of course I'm walking around the house complaining about it like the world is ending. Better me slip than the horse, though! It's snowing again and my boss sent me a text to say stay home tomorrow, but unfortunately for both of us, I have a big meeting scheduled and so I got to remind my boss that she needs to put on pants and make it to the office. LOL.
Another week started with multiple meetings. I managed to get some work done, but I really would’ve preferred to stay home and work. The parking lot was a hot mess today.
Weekend was okay. Ran around and watched TV. Didn’t get as much sleep as I’d hoped, but I did enjoy a lot of couch time with my dogs.
I worked yesterday. I came in early thought and left at 4. I've got a lot of deadlines happening so ugh. It's been in the 30's here lately and I am tired of the cold.
Has anyone watched the Marvelous Mrs Maisel? It's on Amazon Prime I really like it. I watched a few episodes last night.
I had a three day weekend, it was stressful. The vet's were not much help with L. It appears that he probably has torn his ACL because of atrophied muscles in his back legs and the amount of falls he has where his legs splay. A is going back to see another vet tomorrow to see if it can be managed with meds and PT. I just don't know what we are going to do with L. I have hurt myself trying to carry him outside to go to the bathroom. It would probably be fine if he would walk normal, but he hates being cooped up inside and wants to run as soon as we get support under him. It's a very stressful situation. A has been sick the past few days as well. I just kind of feel like I'm spiraling into a black hole of stress and anxiety and not sure how to dig myself out of it. I have just been so depressed since Buddy died. Blah.

((doglove )) ETA: Would you be able to get (or borrow?) one of those scooter things that they have for dogs whose hind legs are paralyzed? I have no idea how expensive they are, though.

He's going to see the vet tomorrow to see if that's an option. A wheelchair is about 500$ I think for a dog L's size. We're not really equipped at home to be wheelchair friendly, but I guess we'd have to figure it out because I'm not sure any other way that he'll be able to get around.
