With stories?
I am between 12 and 13 weeks, depending on whether we go with last period or my doctor's growth estimate.
I had some spotting-- very, very light-- Thursday and Friday. Called the nurse on Friday and she said to take it easy all weekend, but it sounded like nothing serious, and I had an appointment scheduled for this Thursday anyway.
Sunday afternoon, I worked out. I lifted, but took it easy relative to my usual workouts. I hadn't had any spotting since early Friday morning. An hour later, after my shower, I started bleeding. A lot. Filled the toilet (tmi; sorry).
We called my doctor who said to come in today, assuming it slows down, and that if it didn't slow down soon, go to the ER. I couldn't really tell if it had slowed down, and I knew that neither one of us would sleep, so we put DS to bed and headed to the ER. I continued to bleed there, but when I finally got an ultrasound, the baby was totally fine. Good heart rate, bouncing around, and my hormone levels were good, too.
They discharged me by telling me that I am in the middle of a "threatened miscarriage" but at the moment, all was well. I bled a little more last night and went in to my OB first thing this morning.
This morning's ultrasound was also good, and we were very much reassured by the doctor that this could be totally normal. But in the meantime, I'm considered "high risk" and need to go in every week.
No more bleeding now, but I'm pretty freaked out.
If you've got one handy, I'd love to hear a story about how this happened to you or a friend, and how it all turned out just fine.
With DS2, I had a partial placenta abruption. Lots of red blood, passing clots, etc. I was told that my odds of having a miscarriage were over 50%. I went on bedrest for a week to see if that would help. It ended up resolving itself and now that baby is a happy two year old sleeping in the next room.
I bled my entire pregnancy with my first. It's not really a pregnancy anyone would want (lots of bed rest, early delivery), but I have a very healthy 4.5 year old now
Oh, that sounds so scary! But I have heard SO many stories of similar things happening and all being well. The fact that your baby looked great and your hormone levels are good is so encouraging.
Have they checked for placenta issues or hematoma?
Neither the ER doc nor the OB this morning could find anything on the ultrasound, though I think they were both more concerned with reassuring me that the baby was ok. I go back on Thursday, so maybe she'll see something then?

Good luck, I hope everything works out for you!
Thank you. I'm feeling positive now, and your story helps.

I am sorry for the scare. I have not experienced anything like this but I do know that give your gestation and the fact that the heartbeat was strong your chance of losing the baby is low. I want to say somewhere around 3% if I am remembering correctly. Did they determine the cause of the bleeding? It could be a SCH.
I have been into my doctor 3 times with spotting (i'll call it smearing because it's lighter than spotting). Each time baby checked out fine and no real reason given. One episode was after a workout, another was after a pool day (with my 5 year old niece which I'd equate to a workout) and I can't remember what else.
I definitely take it super easy with my workouts now. Even if its unrelated, I'm not willing to risk it.
Even now at 22 weeks, I see a little bit of blood here and there. Follow the instructions and take it as easy as you can...

I had a SCH and bleed until about 21 weeks. Then it was some light spotting. I have a super healthy 3 year old now. My grandmother told me she bleed with all her pregnancies. So I think it could be genetic.
I had brown/pink spotting until about 15 weeks. They said it was normal and to take it easy. Perfectly fine PG until I went into out-of-the-blue pre-term labor at 36 and 38 weeks. He stayed put though, and is super healthy now. If the Dr. tells you to take it easy, I wouldn't work out IMHO. Especially not lifting weights!
