It's been a while, but I was wondering how everybody is doing with their writing.
I know incogneato is working through a new manuscript at super speeds and I assume our self-published smock is as well. (I followed both of you on Twitter recently, btw.) Anybody else? fatamy, Gato, @writererin?
I took all of December off writing, and this past month have been mostly journaling a bit each day. I really should go back to read my novel draft, and see where I want to go from there.
What I'm having the most trouble with, despite 20 years of writing on and off professionally, is truly believing that I'm a writer. Like, really committing to it as a craft, a daily practice, and a profession. I still feel like I am noodling around and wonder when, if ever, I will feel more confident saying 'this is who I am; this what I do.'
My writing has been pretty firmly on hold for the time being. I'm about 15 weeks pregnant and my energy level barely gets me through just a normal day, never mind having the mental energy required to write or revise. I'm amazed I even made it through NaNo, because I got my positive pregnancy test about halfway through the month and the exhaustion kicked in not long after that.
But once I DO get my energy back a bit, I fully intend to return to revising the project I started trying to revise last summer/fall.
I did something so bad... I read through my 25k words from November and started editing it. Gah! I really like where I'm going with my story, and I want to keep writing, but I'm struggling with the middle part of the book. So I thought if I re-read, it would help my brain/heart decide where to go. But that was early January and I'm still stuck. But I'm still thinking about it! So idk... I'd like to keep going.

Congrats on the pregnancy!!
It's sooooooooo hard to write while pregnant or with an infant. The two times I didn't even attempt were when pregnant, and two of my fails (including this year) were when the girls were little babies.

You're a writer! Twenty years on and off professionally, you're a legit writer!
