I added a 3rd pair to my repertoire at 41. I had sunglasses and regular glasses for driving. Now I also have glasses for screens/computer work. And I was the only one in my family forever to not need glasses:contacts. Welcome to the club!

I was at Back to School night a year and a half ago and was doing the same thing with my phone--one of my co-teachers (whom I presenting with) said, "Hey, whatcha gonna do when ya run out of arm?" I told him to shut up, and I went to the eye dr the next day to get the reading glasses.
I love my glasses, but when I don't have them with me when I need them, it's frustrating as hell. I used to be able to kinda make out what the words are, but alas, no more. (I'm 44 for reference, so I was 42 at the time).

I've had readers for a few years. But it's all going downhill quickly. Distance is slowly going, I have astigmatism, and need glasses for the computer. Ugh. I'll be 49 in a few short months.
Yes! I've found myself asking "Why is it so dark in here and why is the print so small??" when I'm looking at restaurant menus. I already can't see without glasses/contacts so to add reading glasses? gah.

I've felt that way since I first got glasses at 8. Why are restaurants so damn dark? But then again I'm nearly 45 and still haven't noticed any symptoms of presbyopia; that could be partly down do the fact that my prescription is a -9.25.
I am kind of looking forward to it. My father's eyes, which were always worse than mine, actually IMPROVED when he hit middle age and presbyopia. His prescription that was a -10 is now a -7. I'd love anything that gets me lighter, thinner lenses, even if they are bifocal/multifocal lenses!
