Everyone says to bring light up/glow/Disney stuff to Disney on Ice so that you don't have to buy anything there. But what, exactly, did you bring? What's a good idea?
The Dollar Store usually has glow sticks, but not necessarily princess-themed. I am looking on Amazon and they have a few things that might work.
I'm not sure where to actually buy it but every time we go to Disney on Ice my DD BEGS for this thing. It's at least $25 there but we found one at a random brewery for $7 a few months ago and bought another one.
Light-up stuff is a hit. I think glow sticks would be good, but anything with LED lights would be good too. I did a search for “light up Disney toy” and found some things, though some prices are as high as you’d pay at the event, so also check out Target, Walmart, etc. If I WAS going to pay the higher price, I’d still rather pay Amazon than stand in long crowded lines and buy at the venue, but that’s just me.
When I went, vendors were selling the same stuff outside after the event at half price.
I would just do that vs trying to duplicate what they have inside, because you really can't. Glow sticks do not compare to their light up things.
I haven’t seen them sell half price stuff ever, but I always do laugh when people recommend bringing your own stuff. That miiigghhhttt work for a young two and under, but by the time my older kids were like 2 1/2 you can trust that they were like “yeah lady. This is not the real shit!”

Walgreens and other pharmacies often have similar stuff, things that you push a button and something spins and lights up and has disney characters on it. That's the kind of stuff my kids always wanted us to buy (but I also never bought stuff ahead of time, we got lucky and they were happy with a balloon on the way out, which was much cheaper!)

We bring a princess dress and light up wand for dd2. Dd1 is no longer interested in those Snacks are a problem.. Dd1 always wants a sno cone, and no way am i paying $12-15 for flavored ice. Lol. We buy arena snacks like pretzels, popcorn, chicken fingers- still expensive but no where close to what the Disney vendor charges.
I brought Grandpa, who bought my daughter the 30 dollar light up wand lol.
It was my first experience with taking my daughter to a show like this and I didn't know what to expect. I didn't realize you could bring your own - what a great idea for next time!
We're going next weekend! I'm ordering the snowflake glow wands off Amazon. DD is going to wear her Elsa dress and I ordered a shirt off Ebay for DS. I'm planning to only buy a pretzel or popcorn for snacks when we get there.
I had DD dress-up in a princess dress, her friend dressed as a policeman (her favorite). We brought snacks, juice boxes and light-up toys and the kids had a ball. I also brought warm clothes because the place was cold, I saw some lap blankets that were a good idea but I was glad not to lug quite so much.
We also left early when DD was "okay, I'm done." No regrets.
Walmart or Target should have some type of mini Disney character flashlight. The dollar store has generic glow stick wands and other Disney items.
When I took DS to Disney on Ice last year (age 3.5) I scrounged up an old Olaf stuffed animal from the bottom of his closet that he had forgotten about. I hid it in the bottom of my purse, and handed it to him when we got to our seats, just as I handed him his $10 or $15 bucket of popcorn. He flipped and thought I bought the Olaf for him when he wasn't looking.
The only time I would go all out and actually pay for the toys and junk they sell at Disney on Ice is a special circumstance. There was a nestie on here last year who had to unexpectedly cancel a trip to Disney, so they blew a few hundred $$ on souvenirs and food at Disney on Ice to make up for it. I could see myself doing that. Otherwise everything is WAY over priced. Even more so than at Disney World, IMO!
I got a light up snowflake spinner thing in the back Christmas stocking section of Target for $5. Probably not helpful to you now. Oh, and I totally forgot it to bring it with us, so yeah, lol.
People were also selling knockoffs outside for $15 (inside was $30).

LOL, I budget for this stuff. One of the memories I have is while we were waiting for our ride, a final vendor goes by with coloring books. DD runs up to him with $5 (that I gave her) to get the last one and she was SO EXCITED.

My kid knows we don't always buy crap at the zoo, children's museum, or every day we're in Disney, etc. So any themed item we give him is a bonus. Doesn't matter if we bought it onsite.
DS and I went last weekend. A LOT of people bought the Nemo hats there (which were hideous IMO). Look up which show you are going to because they have a couple touring right now and you can get an idea of the characters. The one we went to was more of the classics-Aladdin, Lion King, Snow White, Little Mermaid-then Frozen was thrown in at the end. There were a lot of people with just the dollar store necklaces, then some with the knockoff light up wands that spun (the ones they were selling there were huge).
One thing to keep in mind is snacks-they're stupid expensive at the arena, but I spent the money to keep DS happy (even though he had just had lunch).
