What is everyone doing for fun this weekend? We are healthy (??!) and it’s dd2s bday. We were going to a valentine thing through our district ecfe, but it was *insane* and I was not paying money to go to a zoo where they would make crafts. We went to the actual zoo instead, lol. Littles are napping and I’m suppose to be studying, but I am so tired. Dd1 is playing quietly. Tonight I want dh to parent. I’m done. Tomorrow I’m working a few hours and so is dh so the kids will come with me. Other than that I have no plans.
DS had a Home Depot workshop this morning, then we did some running around. I have a slight fever and the chills so I'm trying to take it easy. DS and I just finished filling out and assembling 29 valentines for his class, though, so I guess I'm not being too successful at resting.
Tomorrow DS has a birthday party, so we need to wrap the gift and he wants to make a handmade card to go with it.
We did Disney on Ice last night and it was delightful for me to watch the little girls enjoying the show. I mean, all of us enjoyed it, but they really got into it. DD3 was beaming.
Today DH took 3 of the kids to their cousin's bday at a jump-y place while I stayed home with DD3. This is her first day of really being "normal"ish and we didn't want to push it. Then I took the 3 big kids to their other cousin's play. She starred as Mary Poppins in the middle school musical. Now we're getting DS (1st grade) ready for his FIRST sleepover (he's excited; I'm secretly nervous). Tonight no big plans. Grocery shopping, maybe, and if I am lucky the kids will go to bed and I can watch some Olympics and/or some DVRd "The Bachelor." I know, it's so so bad, but so so good at the same time. I'm only a couple episodes in.
Tomorrow I need DH to be here so I can break out of the house, finally, without kids, and do some errands. Have to get their Valentines and DS has to make a Valentine holder.
I think I am now getting sick, but hopefully it will be just a cold. It could still go either way--go away entirely or set in.
It was finally sunny here, so I took the kids to meet friends at a new-to-us playground. It was chilly, but so good to get out. Then the kids had a sleepover at my parents’, and DH and I had a date night. Now I’m reveling in the quiet before I pick them up, and DH is spending the day working and the night at the hospital with his dad. The peace was fun while it lasted.
