Week of 2/12

DH is the best. My mom picked me up and we ran errands, went to lunch, got our eyebrows waxed, window shopped a few stores, and went grocery shopping. I was gone 5.5 hours. It was the first time since C was born I didn't feel rushed to get home. Plus he sent me picture updates so I knew everything was good. It was soooooo nice.

Our week is super quiet compared to last week. No Valentine's plans here because we suck at gift giving. Neither one of us really buys the other anything. I'm pretty sure H hasn't gotten my card yet. I told him to pick up baby wipes and Reese's when he goes to Walgreen's tomorrow, lol.

We need to get our taxes done. I should probably email my accountant to get my butt in gear.

Plumber came today to fix our kitchen sink. $250 easily avoided. Now I need H to come clean the sink with bleach before I will wash dishes in it.

The romance is real here, too. DH brought home bananas today since we are running low. That's probably the extent of the gift giving in our house!

I'm confused. We're watching the Olympics and right now it says it's live, but we've already seen all of these skating performances. Are they replaying it but saying it's live? Are they performing the same thing again? I don't get it!

katespade- it sounds like a big project but it will look great in the end.

wineandcheese- coming home from holidays and catching up on laundry, shopping etc is always the worst part of the time off. I don’t go back to work until next wed but I’m glad we are going home on Sunday so that I have mon and tues to do stuff before I go back to work.

ewall happy 10 years on Saturday! Our 10 years was in September, I can’t believe I’ve spent 1/3 of my life with dh. Lol

estrellita- it’s not asking me to upgrade, but my app is frequently saying “this board is unavailable” or “this board is not responding”. It’s a pain.

And I think the skating is all reruns as they have already awarded medals for all the team/double figure skating haven’t they?

This week has been so crazy busy but it’s been nice to see everyone.

Mon- dd had a little friends bday. (A lady I met at a moms group 6-8 months ago. So I got to see all my mom friends from the group.)
Tues- I went to the gym and then we had dinner with my parents.

Wed- mini golf, hopefully DD cooperates. We are going to a local place that’s been open for 40+ years and they have indoor mini golf in the basement of the building. When we flooded last year their basement was destroyed so they closed it down and recently reopened it. So dh and I are excited to see what they did with it as it’s only been open for 2 weeks now. And before now the mini golf was the original one. They had never upgraded it until now.

Thursday- swimming with my mom group, then dh is going to watch dd while I have coffee with a friend, and dinner out with mil and her sisters.

Fri- no plans yet.

Sat- MIL will watch dd while dh and I go to a friends house for some drinks and such in the evening.

I just booked a hotel room for my BFF's wedding! A full night's sleep is in my near future! Realistically, the wedding is only a few minutes from my parent's house where the kids will be staying. But my parents encouraged us to get a hotel and enjoy the after party, and well, you don't have to tell me twice. H and I have been on one date in the last 9 months so we really need this.

I was proud of myself for making H a really cute card for Valentine's Day on Shutterfly last week. But I just checked the tracking and delivery isn't expected until tomorrow. Oh well. B and I were talking about how we were going to make heart pancakes for dinner tonight and H commented that he remembers when Valentine's Day used to be an excuses to eat a fancy veal chop for dinner and now we're eating pancakes, lol.

awick14 I *think* they might have been performing the same thing again just because the announcer said something about one of the couples doing better tonight or something and everyone was talking about it being Valentine's Day. I don't see the point of showing the skating routines more than once on TV though I get there are multiple rounds to the competition. Hopefully tonight will be something different, lol.

We got our tax refund, and it was over $8K! But whomp whomp, we have to bring it all to the closing table to sell our underwater rental house...plus ANOTHER $8k we have to borrow. I hate that house.

Happy Valentine's Day friends. Today is my neice's first birthday. Can't believe she is ONE. She is so stinking cute.

Just finished my dental cleaning and have to schedule to have my fillings done boo.

I hate the dentist but it wasnt that bad.

estrellita The skating that was on last night was live/new, it was the pairs competition short program. But yes, some of them already did the same performance last week as part of the team competition. They use the same routine for both.

My brother came to town so we went out for a family dinner tonight. We went to a Chinese buffet so it wasn't overly busy and G got to leave with a balloon. No cooking and we didn't pay. I'd call it a win.

Whenever I show up. I'll drop E at daycare, then head to the office to get my lab slip, then to the lab (all are within 3 blocks of each other). I'll likely have my blood drawn before 9 am.

Woah. I didn't think I was supposed to get my bonus or raise until I went back to work but our bank account today was huge! Went into my work app to see my pay slips. I got over a $2/hr raise and my bonus was a lot more than I expected! Even after taxes it's more than enough to pay off the car (we have plenty in savings for A's medical bills although I don't think we got the actual hospital bill yet, just for the doctors, but we should still be ok). I'm so happy! I'm probably going to text my boss though and make sure it wasn't a mistake that I got my bonus now, lol.
