Saturday afternoon we were moved out of the PICU and back to oncology. He has no more air or ng tube and yesterday they removed the O2 monitor and annoying stuck on leads! He only has his picc line and 1 iv left. He is finally my happy playful boy again.
They will do an xray tomorrow and as long as his intestines are healed he can finally have something to eat/drink! As long as that goes well he is scheduled to get his picc removed and a port placed during his lumbar puncture on Friday. We should be able to go home soon after that!!
Thanks for all the kind words and support during a really terrifying few weeks.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
NandaB . How’s Wesley doing? How is your family holding up? Thinking of you all.
Thanks for checking on us. He is doing better. Still on some oxygen but eating pretty well, so thats good. they are going to stop the IV nutrition today or tomorrow so hopefully his appetite will improve and he will want more that soup. He is scheduled for his next lumbar puncture and chemo on friday, so thats good. Oncology wanted to do it today, as his treatment is already been delayed 12 days, but anesthesiology is more comfortable waiting a few more days because he still has pneumonia and is having some breathing issues. Hopefully he will be able to go home after that.
