I have a bachelors in criminology and I am an Executive Director for a non-profit. They are not related at all, although without a degree I probably wouldn't have gotten my current position.
I also have a certification specific to my field (CFRE) which has been helpful in advancement but not necessary.
MSW, helped me get into a fellowship program at a higher pay than I would have otherwise. Don't work in that field now, but back in grad school at night for an MPA that is directly related to my career.
BS in International Finance and Economics. 1 credit shy of a triple major with BA in Int'l Political Science. Economics has helped me with the fundamentals of market behavior, but because all my research is technical based, economics does nothing for me. My market specialty is in foreign currency and that comes from int'l finance.
I thought about getting my masters in finance but it's pointless since I don't need it for my job. It's funny because 10 years ago (still in HS), I was planning on getting my master then going for my PhD. I wanted to be a professional student.

I have a BA in Human Development (basically early childhood education). I'm a paraeducator (basically classroom assistant) for a special education preschool classroom. So yes my degree is in my field and probably helped me get my job although most people with my job only have an AA or a Bachelors in another field.
I love my job and eventually want to get a certificate in special education or something along those lines.
I have my Bachelor's in Economics, and each position I've held has required a four-year degree in one of a handful of disciplines, but not necessarily Econ. My general line of work does not require an advanced degree and having one guarantees neither a better title nor higher pay. It's really about experience and performance in my field, but I sometimes wish I'd gone for my MBA, if only because I really loved school.
LOL that 90% of the people responding have an advanced degree. I have a feeling there are many people on this board without one that must have skipped replying
I have an MS, and it is not necessary for my job or the job I held before this one. It did help me get both jobs because the field is related. I'm hopeful that as I get more experience it will be worth even more. Right now it remains to be seen if it was a good monetary investment as my salary is not as high as I would have expected at this point.

I have a post-bac and two masters degrees. Two of the three are in education, but the third-- a Masters in Organizational Leadership-- is still relevant to teaching.

I have a BA in elementary education. I SAH so no, it doesn't do anything for me. Well I guess it helps a bit in giving me some clout at my kids school.
I have a HS degree. However, I am 3 classes away from my BA in Organizational Communication, and this time next year, will be working towards my MLS degree. If they end up offering a MA in Communication, I may do that too, because it would be free. (I work at the university) but my MLS would not be free. I doubt I would be ambitious enough to do both at the same time (IF you can even do that!) but I would look into the master in comm once I completed my MLS, basically for shits and giggles.
Right now...my job requires a BA. Once I attain it, I really won't be using it because it's not the same field, but they can change my job description back. Once I get my MLS, I will be using that, because you cannot be a librarian without it. (Unless you live in a super small town or something.)

I have a BS in physics. I do health care IT. They are related in that people think I'm smart because I majored in physics. And in that they both require strong problem solving skills. However, my real qualifications are prior experience and professional certifications. An advanced degree would probably make no difference, though a nursing degree would probably allow me to charge at least 25% more.
i have a master's degree that is a professional, (usually) terminal degree. it is absolutely related to what i do. you do not need a master's to do my job, but you do need either the degree i have or the 5-year undergrad, professional degree if you want to become licensed. there are routes you can take to get licensed without either degree as well, but take for.ev.er. you can also practice unlicensed but have to work under a licensed person or for a firm with licensed people.
I have an MBA, but a BS in engineering. My MBA, I hope will help me move into management but Iam currently an engineer so it's not doing much for me now.
I have an MA. It was helpful in my last job, but not as necessary as the willingness to do a lot of semi-stressful, but fulfilling, work for a laughable salary.
I don't need it at all for what I do now, but it gives me options if I ever decide to stop freelancing and go back to my previous field.
Currently it allows me to be paid at the highest paid level but (hopefully) by next year it will also allow me to become a vice-principal. To take the courses to be an administrator either a Masters is needed or two 'Specialists' (each specialist is made up of three courses on a specific topic - my DH for example has a specialist in Math for grades 1-6). So my masters has allowed me to take my 1st Admin course last year and I will be taking the 2nd this fall.
