I am considering one of those semi- permanent straightening solutions, but am undecided. I'm trying to decide if it would be worth the price. Anyone have experience with these treatments?
My hair has 2 different textures. From the ears up, it is fine, very slightly wavy, and kind of thin, especially at the crown. I'm all about volume and extremely lightweight moisture in this section. From my ears down, it is coarser in texture, very wavy (like 2c) and frizzy. In this section, I'm all about moisture and smoothing.
I essentially divide my hair in half and style the two sections differently. It's crazy if I allow it to air dry. I pretty much have to use a flat iron or curling iron to make the two sections the same. Even just blow drying doesn't help.
I also color my hair--balayage highlights every 6 months, and covering my grays every 3 months.
My stylist said I could do that straightening as a partial. She said she doesn't do it, but that she would ask the dude in the salon who does do this about the price.
I have been getting keratin treatments for years. My hair sounds similar to the bottom of your hair, but with more curl. It is also extremely frizz prone. The treatments completely change the texture of my hair. It will still be curly if I don't blow dry, but the frizz is gone. I love it. I still blow dry and flat iron it, but it stays that way instead of frizzing as soon as I walk outside. I'm not sure about doing a partial, but I don't see why you couldn't do it that way.
